Sometimes it's nice having a husband who works in restaurants!

I've had super low energy lately (more about that to come) and hubby has been stepping up to make sure I'm getting nutrient dense meals.

It's ok to be bad at things and do them anyway.

In case you didn't know, a lot of the reminders here are reminders for myself that maybe you need too.

I avoided making bread for a long time. Maybe especially sourdough bread.

I like, make, and have taught sourdough classes for years, making everything sourdough except bread.

Finally, it was time, and at the beginning of this year, I took a class from a friend and dove in. First time went great! Then... not so much. My mom watched me do the first ones and hers have been awesome!
Mine may actually just keep getting worse.

But you know what?

Its OK.

It's still worth doing.

So is painting. I'm no great artist by any stretch. But it brings me joy, and makes other people smile when I share what I've made.

So... who wants to do things togethet whether they turn out or not?

It's not uncommon for me to take a picture of my food.
For a while, I probably did more often than not. Usually so I had something to use when working on posts for you, sometimes because it was pretty and made me happy.

This time, it made me think about perspective.

While they're both colorful photos of nutrient dense food, it occurred to me that some people would have different reactions to these photos based on perspective- both their own, and that of the photo.

This is the same plate. My lunch at a catered conference I'm at. But which side is front and center can create a unique response.

Something about that stuck me as fitting and as a reminder that maybe you need as well.

Nourishing yourself is more than the food on your plate.

It's who you surround yourself with.
It's how you spend your time, your relationships, creative outlets, and what you're putting into your mind.

Here's a few I've been listening to (that's the season I'm in) in the last few months.

What are you reading or listening to?

Happy Easter!
The ultimate fresh new part of spring is the hope offered by the resurrection.

Protein and fiber.

Get overwhelmed with what to eat? Pick a color you haven't had recently in plant form. Eat your protein and fiber. Drink some water.

The rest will be OK.

That's our rules lately, anyway.

And with that, we are through the first quarter of this year.

How are you feeling?
How's your progress on your goals?
How can I support you?
What does this next quarter hold for you?

Yummy food 📸 just for fun!

Some of the best advice that I've held onto is that you become like the people you spend the most time around, so surround yourself with great people!

I'm so grateful that I'm constantly surrounded by humans that inspire, encourage, challenge, and laugh with me!
I'm continually reminding myself to also be that human for them.

If you don't know these ladies, this is my Creating Community crew plus the amazing Janelle in the center. We spent time together around the Blazing Trails Women in Business Summit where we were in a room with hundreds of fantastic women out there making a difference.

Find your people.
Love them hard.

One of the things (actually the *main* thing) I'm leaning into this year is doing more speaking.

I love teaching and coaching, I'm even learning to enjoy writing, but it's speaking that lights me up!

I have done workshops, panels, and plenty of speaking around all of my things for years.
Last month, I was invited to do a proper keynote. At one of my favorite places- Veterans Entrepreneurship Program at OSU in Stillwater. I'm so grateful for that opportunity, because it clarified that this really is where I want to focus my energy.

Thank you, Chad, for trusting me with that stage, and everyone else who supported.

Now, it's go time. Hope to see you at an event soon!

Where are you focusing your energy this year?

Spring is officially here!

This is when I get excited about the fresh, the new, growth, change, and beginnings.

What are you beginning this season?
What are you choosing to leave behind?

How do we do the things together?
