Let’s be honest with each other, no one (maybe a select few crazy people ) is trying to lose weight over the holiday season. Here is the problem though: we make excuses for eating and drinking poorly past just a single day or a single meal. Overdoing it just on Christmas day turns into overdoing it the entire month of December. The Holiday party at work and the ugly sweater party at your friend’s house. Then New Year’s Parties start. Then It’s cold and snowy out and it’s just too easy to eat comfort food. Your neighbor made cookies and you can’t let them go to waste. And so on and so on…. Does that sound familiar? Before you know it, by the year end, you have gained 10-15 lbs. and you continue this trend for years. Just think, 5 years of gaining 10-15 lbs. a year quickly turns into 50-75 lbs! Read Kyle’s Tip, link to the blog post is in the comments.

Happy Halloween!

Balance Health is excited about the opportunity to partner with Soldiers’ Angels to collect extra Halloween candy to support our troops! We think it is important to be able to support our troops while they are away during the holidays. Also, we care about your health and wellness and want to inform you about the harmful impacts of excess sugar.

We understand this is a fun holiday for the kids but at some point, too much candy is just too much. To keep the fun, we are providing the opportunity for kids to bring in extra candy for money, a prize, a raffle drawing, and a way to help others. For every pound of candy donated to our troops, kids can get a dollar or a prize out of the toy box. Kids can get paid for up to 5 pounds of candy. For every pound of candy, they will be entered into a drawing for a fun night out.

We will be collecting candy Tuesday, Nov 1st – Friday, Nov 4th. Stop by the office during working hours and we can make a trade! Please be patient if it takes us a minute as our staff may be busy helping clients.

Look out for our upcoming video if you are interested in learning about why Dr. Frank Morgan believes sugar is “public enemy #1”.

Please do not buy extra candy to donate. If you want to support our troops, please consider making a financial donation as we must ship the candy. Please reach out to Whitney if you would like to do this.

Thank you for your time and support! We appreciate each and every one of you!

*This opportunity is for Balance Health clients only

How many of you add step ups into your routines? Here is a simple variation to engage the quads and glutes for more time under tension. It also works the muscles through the concentric (muscle lengthening) and eccentric (muscle shortening) parts of the move. Also a great move to strengthen two key joints, the hip and knee.

More About Us

The Balance Health Gym was founded and started on March 10th, 2014. The facilities owner and family physician, Dr. Frank Morgan had a dream to open a direct primary clinic like no other. His goal was to offer disease prevention through lifestyle modification and one way to help people live more healthier and functional lives is by staying active. With this in mind, Dr. Morgan decided to attach a gym to his direct primary care clinic.

Since then, the gym has thrived and offers outstanding small group training, personal training, and rehabilitation services. The gyms Fitness Director and Head Personal Trainer, Kyle Taplin has been at the gym since day one. Keith Carlisle, the strength and conditioning coach, has also been the other primary trainer since day one. Teri, Wellness Coach, provides additional support through nutrition services, personal training, and small group training.

We love the community that has been built at the Balance Health Gym. The environment is very friendly and encouraging to aid adults to a healthier and more functional life. We have a variety of small group sessions. Some that are all male, all female, or a mix. Along with that, individuals go through an initial consultation and functional assessment to better understand health and to aid the trainers in placing them in the best possible training experience. We have beginner to advanced small groups and young adult to elderly sessions available.
