Friday's state track and field events postponed due to weather conditions As CHSAA officials continued to monitor the weather, the cold front moved in earlier than expected. Therefore, today's track and field state championships has been postponed due to the weather conditions and in the interest of the athletes' safety.

Shout out to Kylie Van Iddekinge for winning the Colorado Athletic Directors Association 2022 Student Scholar Award! Kylie’s essay was selected as the winner out of the entire state and was invited to present her essay at the annual CADA conference in Breckenridge!

Dayspring Eagles Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-5 victory over Clear Creek. Bringing their overall record to 13-5. The Eagles secured the victory thanks to 7 runs in the 5th inning. The offensive firepower by DCA was led by Toby Howell, Jeremiah Garza, Gage Davis, Tyler Sugden & Logan Van-Iddekinge, all driving in runs. Sugden was credited with the victory for Dayspring. The righthander allowed nine hits and five runs over six innings, striking out 10 and walking only 1. Logan Van-Iddekinge threw 2 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Dayspring tallied 13 hits in the game. Tyler, Logan & Gage all had multiple hits for Dayspring. Our next game is on Friday at 4:00 pm. in Ault against Highland who is currently 11-1.

Dayspring moves to an 8-3 record yesterday after the DCA Varsity team asserted their will over Front Range Christian to a 17-2 victory. DCA Varsity didn't commit a single error on the field yesterday!! It was a close game until the 3rd inning when the Eagles pulled away for good. The Eagles put up 7 runs in the 7th inning which was led by Gage Davis, Josiah Rodriguez, Levi Van-Iddekinge, Logan Van-Iddekinge, Jeremiah Garza, Tobi Howell & Peyton Coleman, all driving in runs. Dayspring racked up a total of 16 hits in yesterday's game. Tyler Sugden led the Dayspring Eagles Varsity to victory on the mound. Sugden surrendered two runs on four hits, over 7 innings, striking out 11 and walking 0.
