Cardio Tip — Go Slower to Burn More Fat

Lower-intensity cardio (like brisk walking or steady cycling) keeps your body in the fat-oxidation zone, using a higher percentage of fat for fuel. Research shows that training around 60–70% of max heart rate maximizes fat metabolism, while very intense exercise shifts energy toward carbs and proteins (Achten & Jeukendrup, Sports Med, 2004; Venables et al., J Appl Physiol, 2005).
How-to: Aim for 30–45 minutes of steady cardio where you can still hold a conversation.
