Despite finishing 12-4 and having the NFLs highest rated Quarterback in Tony Romo, with a 113.2 QB rating, their time ran out against the Green Bay Packers. A late game Tony Romo to Dez Bryant touchdown was challenged by the Packers and over turned. Adding insult to injury in February 2018, the NFL stated that it should have been ruled a touchdown. Unfortunately by 2018 both Tony Romo and Jason Witten retired while Dez Bryant was cut from the team and remains on the open market unemployed to this very day (May 19, 2018). An absolutely BRUTAL ploy by the D.S.C.

The Dallas Stars won their division and were considered a favorite to win the Cup. One of, if not the best offensive team in the entire NHL playoffs everything was going fine until they met with legendary former coach Ken Hitchcock. At which point the Dallas Sports Curse (tm) appeared and the Stars exited the NHL Play-offs even though their team is considered much more talented.

Wiped out by San Francisco in the 2010 World Series, the Rangers twice came within a strike of their first World Series championship last October against St. Louis.

When the Rangers committed more than $107 million last winter to acquire Japanese pitcher Darvish, they did so with the anticipation he'd be on the mound for many big games.

The Rangers lost the AL West crown on the final day of the regular season, after being swept in three games at Oakland for a stretch of nine losses in their last 13 games.

Joe Saunders pitched effectively into the sixth inning at a place where he had never won, Adam Jones delivered the tiebreaking sacrifice fly and the Orioles, in the playoffs for the first time in 15 years, eliminated the Rangers 5-1 on Friday night.

Following their 2010 World Series meltdown the Texas Rangers get back to the World Series the following year. The 2011 World Series was only the second World Series ever in which a team, one strike away from elimination, came back to win—with the Cardinals, in fact, achieving this feat twice in Game 6. The first was the 1986 World Series, in which the New York Mets rallied from a 5–3 deficit in the bottom of the 10th inning of Game 6 to win the game and, later, the decisive Game 7.

After winning the division, the Texas Rangers enter their first world series by beating both the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees. While the Rangers starting pitching would continue to be strong in the World Series, giving up only 33 runs in 97⅔ innings, the Rangers offense would only score 29 total hits in the 5 games. The Giants would score as many runs as the Rangers had hits in the series. The Rangers would also be shut out by the Giants in two of the games. It was the first time a team had been shut out in two world series games since the 1966 series. The Rangers lost the series winning only 1 game.

The 2007 season saw the Desperados post an AFL record fifteen wins and the team appeared destined to make their first ArenaBowl appearance, but they were shocked by the Columbus Destroyers, who had entered the playoffs with a loosing record (7-9 ), in the first round. The upset is ranked by many among the greatest of all time.

The Cowboys finished the regular season tied for the best record in the NFC (13-3), and earned a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. However, they lost their first playoff game to the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants, a team that they had defeated in their two regular-season matchups. The win marked the first time in 20 years that the NFC's #1 seeded team had been eliminated in the divisional round, the first time it had happened since the current playoff format was instituted in 1990.

Considered the greatest upset in NBA Playoff history. The Dallas Mavericks won an NBA RECORD 67 games in 2007. Coming off their humiliating defeat to the Miami Heat in the finals the year before, the NBAs #1 seed looked ready to avenge all wrongs. All they had to do was get past the #8 seeded Golden State Warriors in the 1st round. The Golden State Warriors were coached by Don Nelson, who previously had coached the Mavericks back to NBA prominence. The GSW had not been in the NBA playoffs since 1994, but that didn't stop them from being the first team in NBA history to win a 7 game series as a #8 seed. The GSW did not make the playoffs in 2008.
