FAQ 1: Why is my child being assigned to play U8 for example), when they are only 6 (or still 5)? Can they play with the younger group?
Answer: This answer is in multiple parts. First, the U in each age group stands for under, so a 6 year old is not *under* 6. Therefore, they must play U8. The next part is a little trickier. Our organization uses the school year age format, as do other areas clubs. The cutoff for age is July 31st of the current year. This means anyone who is 6, or turns 6 before this date, must play U8. U8 would be mostly 6 and 7 year olds, with a few older 5 year olds mixed in. And no, you can't play down. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't allow this. It's out of our hands. It's a hard line in the sand.
