Green River Parks & Recreation The Green River Recreation Center is a multi-purpose, physical and social activity center.

Established in 1986, the Green River Parks & Recreation Department has spent decades keeping our community active, healthy, and happy. We manage over 750 acres of parks and green spaces around the city and run a 54,000-square-foot Recreation Center that opened in 1986. Our mission is to promote an active community, strong families, and a high quality of life by providing safe, affordable parks, facilities, and programs – in other words, we make sure boredom never stands a chance in Green River. We like to say our job is all about “Fun, Fitness, Fellowship,” and we mean it. Whether you’re splashing in the pool, skating on a Friday night, or hiking our pathways, we’re here to help you enjoy life in Green River to the fullest. In 2020, our team’s dedication paid off on the national stage – we were honored as a finalist (and went on to win!) the National Gold Medal Award for excellence in parks and recreation. In fact, we’re the first Parks & Rec agency in Wyoming to ever bring home that Gold Medal honor (think of it as the Oscars of parks and rec – and yes, we’re still glowing with pride). But awards aside, we’re mostly proud to serve you – the Green River community – every day. Come out and play with us… because having fun is a way of life here in Green River!

🍂 Here’s what’s happening at the Green River Recreation Center September 21–27!

💦 Tuesday: Splash Zone, 4:30–5:30 PM
🛟 Thursday: Float Hour, 4:30–5:30 PM
💦 Friday: Splash Zone, 4:30–5:30 PM
✋ Saturday: Hand Float, 1:00–2:30 PM
🛟 Sunday: Float Hour, 1:00–2:00 PM

The Nursery is open Monday through Friday from 9:00–11:30 AM, and Pool Happy Hour offers $2 admission on school days from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Please remember that the gym is closed Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00–9:00 PM for volleyball. The pool also closes Monday and Wednesday from 6:00–7:05 PM for swimming lessons.

Interested in teaching swimming and water safety skills? The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification Course is coming up this October!

This blended learning course gives participants hands-on teaching experience while building leadership and communication skills — all while learning how to teach skills that can help save lives. ❤️

📅 In-person sessions: October 10, 17 & 24-Must be able to attend ALL sessions
⏰ 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
💻 Online work due October 9
🙋 Must be at least 15 years old
💲 Fee: $130
📌 Register by October 2 at 9:00 PM

Adults ages 75 and older receive free admission, and special pricing is available for ages 60–74.
