Weekend updateš
-Worked all week after Memorial Day weekend getting the car where we believed we needed it to be to head off to New Smyrna Speedway loaded up and as we were leaving for the track we were notified that the race had been cancelled. So we turned around and crunched on the car to change the rear gear and transmission to race Auburndale Speedway after 3 hours of thrashing to get everything right we loaded up and headed off to race. Made it to the track just in time to get an old set of takeoffs thrown on my spare wheels. Got the car set up and waited for the feature since weather cut our heat races out of the schedule. Started dead last and when we took the green the car showed great power. Made the first lap and threw it into turn 1 hard on the outside and as soon as I touched the brakes car felt like it was on ice spun a full 360 and luckily stayed out of a wreck. We go back green and car felt like it had a tire down on the right rear, car was loose on the brakes unless I eased into them, and loose coming off no matter how I rolled the gas(found out later the overflow breather was throwing oil all over the right rear). Fast forward after being about a half a lap down caution comes out and we get another chance to roll and try our best to keep up with the field going into turn 1, two cars in front of me their motor went sending oil all over the track and my window and unfortunately I got into the back of the car ahead of me as we were bumper to bumper. Red flag comes out after mayhem and about 4-5 cars fell out. Once we go back green I did everything I could with what we had to salvage a 4th place finish due to majority of the field having to fall out. Car was tight in and loose off. Was great to run laps and not a bad finish but not the way we wanted anything to turn out for any of the competitors or ourselves. We will go back to the drawing board and hopefully next run at whichever track we can start chasing speed instead of gremlins. All in all happy to be back behind the wheel to run a full season. Keep your eyes peeled as we have 2 more cars to finish up this season and hopefully be running full throttle again across multiple states.
