Traveling always has associated risk. Planning and good packing helps but there is always a chance that the world goes sideways and you are faced with a long and difficult walk home. A six hour drive would take a month to get back home. With much gratitude we will be driving home tomorrow afternoon.

Going down for some shuteye right in front of the camera. These two have staked a claim to this piece of the ridge. I have enjoyed watching them over the last few months.

I get lots of questions about how the house is coming so I thought a little photo update would be helpful.

Out for my evening ruck I came to the church with the moon in the background. It was too pretty to pass and not share.

Sunrise on the water. The River was like glass.

Did some practice between hunts today to replicate shooting from the stand. Good thing because somewhere along the way my rest got bumped and the first arrow went into the dirt. I would have been quite upset if a monster bear rolled in and my arrow went into the dirt at his feet.

Let’s hope Cam’s bow brings me luck.

This is my quote of the day. Sitting in bear camp doing some writing I remembered this quote that I heard use. In this world of political correctness and fear I think the warriors of this world need to remember who they are and that changing to meet the calls of the masses might in fact doom those clueless fools with no one there to fight the war when the garden is under attack.
