We have an opening for two to three evenings per week of night chores (Monday and Wednesday, with a possible additional if interested). You will be bringing horses in from their paddocks, removing blankets/fly sheets, and feeding dinner. The work only takes 1-2 hours per evening and starts approximately 30-45 minutes before sunset - currently starting around 6pm (will continue to be earlier as sunset gets earlier).

This is a great position for al college student looking to gain horse care experience while earning some money, or just anyone looking to have some more horse time in their life. I’m willing to train but the candidate MUST have some horse handling experience (leading horses and being self sufficient and able to work alone is the most important skill). There is a possibility for additional hours doing other chores around the property. Candidates must have a driver's license and access to their own vehicle (shared with family is fine, but you cannot rely on someone else for transportation).

We are just 6️⃣ weeks away from the Future Equine Practitioners Weekend!

For 11 years now, the independently-owned equine veterinary practices that make up Cavalcade Education (Millbrook Equine + Rhinebeck Equine + Equine Clinic at OakenCroft) have collaborated to create a weekend full of hands-on learning, netweorking, and engaging lectures for 40 current equine veterinary students.

Our teams work together year-round to ensure top-tier programming and secure funds from industry partners in order to create an invaluable weekend experience for up-and-coming horse doctors. Veterinarians from all three Cavalcade practices volunteer their time to plan this weekend and to mentor students! We are lucky enough to have teaching support from veterinarians outside of the Cavalcade circle as well as farriers and equine nutritionists.

🔑 FEPW (and programming like it!) is vital for the future of equine medicine especially considering the continuous decline in numbers of practicing equine veterinarians over the past few years. Contributing to this event is one way to help ensure that your horses have dedicated, knowledgeable care for years to come.

Any interest?

I just had a weekend come open: Aug 8 and 9. (Friday or midweek could be an option too if that works better for you.) If you would like to host a clinic please reach out to Lauren via [email protected] or 540-247-9053 to book.

We can tailor it however you want: Jumping, c**t starting, liberty, R+, R-, XC, PORTL, dressage, obstacles, trail, trailer loading… If it’s horse training, and you want to try it, I’ll do my best to help. (It doesn’t even need to be horses really, I’ll do my best to help with whatever you want to train. Even, especially, chickens. Winky face).

Lately I’ve been teaching clinics in jeans, but if we’re going to jump, I’ll bring my tight pants and tall boots. They are made by EGO7 and super comfy. I’ll also bring my KEP Italia - MAIN PAGE helmet: safety first.

(The idea of safety first definitely means more now that Brooks is 7 and Goldfish is 4 and they are starting to climb trees, and swim in deep water, and jump off cliffs, and ride bikes and horses.)
