Welcome to the Whirlie 5k fun run/walk page. This run/walk was created from the vision of Jacob Barrow who is a senior and runs track and field/xc at Grimsley High School. Over a year ago Grimsley lost one of their very own due to gun violence and Jacob wanted to do something to bring more awareness to the gun violence that is happening far too often to our youth today. He also wanted to bring more awareness to the mental health of the youth because of the society that we live in.
This 5k fun run/walk will be held at Grimsley high school on Saturday, May 27th beginning at 9am.
There will be vendors, local nonprofit groups, food trucks and games available as well as the actual 5k run.
