In the U.K., August marks the traditional opening of grouse season, known as the Glorious 12th.

Here at the Sporting Grounds, it has become a tradition with plenty of anticipation of its own. Since 2018, Members have returned year after year to reconnect, compete, and see who can take home the trophy.

This year, Nick Maehr gave everyone something extra to talk about with a perfect 50 out of 50 targets shot, the first perfect score recorded in competition at the Sporting Grounds. A great tradition, a little friendly competition, and one historic finish.
