Thank you to show horse magazine for the recognition of Huck and Heysus! They are owned, lived and shown by Lauren Tompkins.

What a wonderful kick off to the 2026 show season at the Lone Hickory Arena in Yadkinville. This tournament was hosted by ASAC.

Lots of great new challenges with riding new and inexperienced horses. The ribbons were good but the saddle time and gained knowledge was fantastic!

Lauren and Rae took on the freight train that is Mini and really did a great job keeping her “lid on” and energy contained.

Oliver moved into cantering officially on Marty and handled his big engine well. Nora was the first rider to do a pattern on Marty. Marty wanted to hit the gas pedal but Nora stayed calm and navigated the situation.

Iz and Rae were the first kids to ever show Witness (just now 4 yr old) and Amelia is now the youngest rider to show him. Way to be “mini” horse trainers, kids!

Last but not least…Melody showed how solid she has become in leadline WT and this is the first time she won both classes! Her partner was the wonderful Lou!! What a gem he is!

I’m never surprised by the amount of support that every family shows towards one another BUT it is still wonderful to see (and feel)!!

Great job Team LF and a shout out to our assistant trainer, Ashleigh for instructing everyone while I was recovering from surgery. Caitlin for always jumping in and supporting the riders and horses.

Giant thanks to the volunteers and staff that made this day special!

We feel so blessed that God’s Plan has been recognized as the Junior Exhibitor 5 Gaited Pleasure Horse of the Year!!!

Baby J is only 5 years old he is Lauren’s first gaited horse. They were both green and it took a little while to get the pieces of this team together and rolling in the right direction. They have had an amazing season but getting 3rd at the World Championship Horse Show was a dream come true.

This little gelding has the biggest heart. He’s game but kind. He’s a goofball that loves to play with his rubber chicken, hay ball and eat sweet potatoes like corn on the cob.

Thank you to the team that helped Lauren and Baby J with this incredible season. Ashleigh Williams, Riley Gilliam, Dr Cummings, Dr Garret. Shout out also to Morgan Devore for all her guidance and Tammy Devore for selling us a special horse.

Lauren and Huck worked incredibly hard over the past two seasons and to be recognized is simply awesome!
Lauren had a goal to make a big splash in 2025 with this special pony and they did it!!
