River Valley Varsity Panthers Defeat Penns Manor Varsity Comet In Nail-Biter

Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, River Valley Varsity Panthers still held off for a 6-5 victory on Thursday. Penns Manor Varsity Comet closed the gap by scoring on a home run, a ground out, a ground out, and a ground out.

River Valley Varsity Panthers were the first to get on the board in the first when Sara Bollinger drew a walk, scoring one run.

River Valley Varsity Panthers added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning on four hits. Trinity Boyd homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Emily Warnick singled, scoring one run.

Allie Rhea homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth for the Penns Manor Varsity Comet.

Bollinger earned the win for River Valley Varsity Panthers. The pitcher gave up six hits and five runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Rhea took the loss for Penns Manor Varsity Comet. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven and walking four.

Izabella Speal and Bollinger each collected two hits for River Valley Varsity Panthers. Boyd and Bollinger were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for River Valley Varsity Panthers.

Rhea led Penns Manor Varsity Comet with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Rhea and Jillian Kuzemchak each collected two hits for Penns Manor Varsity Comet. Kuzemchak stole two bases. Penns Manor Varsity Comet stole four bases in the game.

River Valley Varsity Panthers play at home on Friday against Central Cambria Varsity Red Devils in their next game.

Izabella Speal Shows Power In River Valley Varsity Panthers Loss To MC Softball 2026

Izabella Speal hit two home runs and drove in two, but River Valley Varsity Panthers lost to MC Softball 2026 9-3 on Thursday. Speal homered in the first and seventh innings. Scarlet Fridley also homered in the first.

River Valley Varsity Panthers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. River Valley Varsity Panthers first got on the board when Speal hit a solo home run to center field.

MC Softball 2026 flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Macie Miller on an 0-2 count that drove in two.

River Valley Varsity Panthers scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to center field by Speal.

Gracynn Silvis earned the win for MC Softball 2026. The southpaw gave up seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Scarlett Fridley took the loss for River Valley Varsity Panthers. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out none and walking none.

Speal and Sara Bollinger each collected two hits for River Valley Varsity Panthers.

MC Softball 2026 collected 10 hits in the game. Brookelynn Hill, Miller, and Clare Lydic each collected two hits for MC Softball 2026. Miller went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. MC Softball 2026 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Natalie Black had the most chances in the field with nine.
