Most people only see what happens on stage.

They don’t see the few seconds before.

The deep breath.
The nerves.
The quiet rituals.
The moment you remind yourself that you’re ready.

This was Sydney, just before stepping into the Solo Showdown at nationals last year.

Watching her stop, collect herself, and walk onto that stage with courage despite her nerves is one of those moments I’ll never forget.

I get teary eyed every time I watch it back.

I’ve had this kid as a student since she was *literally* a baby. Watching her grow into the dancer and young woman she is today has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

There is nothing more rewarding than getting a front row seat to moments like this.

I’m so proud of you, Syd. 🤍

You’ll probably never realize how much this little moment means to me.
