When you read this, think about if it were next to the town manager, selectboard or their cronies house. They would not allow it to happen. The fence ordinance would be enforced. The only reason the Town is not enforcing it is because itβs βnot worth it to themβ. Local families with roots here versus wealthy, seasonal owners, who do you think the loser is in Greenville. We should all be ashamed of ourselves that we allow this to happen. Enforce the code stop the BS.

It was 1,803 days ago that this nightmare began for a family of seven in Greenville.
Atlas was in the EMMC PICU fighting for his life when seasonal neighbors left the first note on their door about a piece of tar in the right-of-way that they wanted Aaron to fixβor face legal consequences.
Who could have imagined that one note would mark the beginning of a five-year battle?
Today, this family has spent more than $70,000 on legal costs and faces the possibility of a lien on their home. They can't simply sell and move. This was their dream home. The place where they planned to raise their five children. Instead, they are trapped in a nightmare.
What is a family of seven supposed to do?
Imagine knowing that you could potentially lose your home, your financial security and everything you have worked for, including the dream you built your life around, while raising a child with disabilities in a small town in Maine.
Atlas has two doctor appointments out of town next week. Emily's vehicle is broken down. The constant uncertainty, financial pressure and fear of what comes next are taking a tremendous toll on this family.
And still, they keep going.
I recently stopped by to photograph and take video of the newest cameras that have been added to the collection, which now numbers around 15. While I was there, I took a photo of Atlas making pizza with Mommy.
That is what this is really about. A little boy who should be able to grow up, play, make pizza with his mom and feel safe in his own home.
The Town of Greenville has the ability to enforce its ordinance and help make access to this home easier and safer.
Enforce the ordinance.
What is a family of seven supposed to do when they can't sell, can't move and feel trapped in a nightmare that has lasted nearly five years?
We continue to hope that somehow, after 1,803 days, this family can finally find some peace.
