It’s more than just a football game β€” it’s about tradition, community, competition, and celebrating the young athletes who make Pony Express Football so special.

This year, we are proud to introduce three bowl games, each with a name that carries a special meaning and connection to the history and people of Muhlenberg County.

πŸ† THE PONY BOWL
5th & 6th Grade β€” 2:30 PM

Named after the Pony Express Football League, the Pony Bowl will feature our two 5th & 6th Grade teams battling it out for the championship.

🐎 Team Braem vs. Team O’Bannon

These players have put in the work all season long, and now they get the opportunity to finish their season in the Pony Bowl!

3rd & 4th Grade β€” 1:30 PM

The Solar Bowl pays tribute to one of Muhlenberg County’s great football rivalries β€” Muhlenberg North Stars vs. Muhlenberg South Suns, a rivalry that came to an end in 2009.

The Stars and Suns may no longer meet on Friday nights, but the spirit of that rivalry lives on through the next generation.

🌟 THE MARTIN BOWL

Named in honor of Felix E. Martin, a native son of Muhlenberg County, philanthropist, and longtime supporter of the youth of our community.

Mr. Martin had a true passion for helping young people and making Muhlenberg County a better place for generations to come. Naming this bowl in his honor is our way of recognizing the impact he made and continuing that spirit of investing in our kids.

These young players are just beginning their football journeys, and getting the opportunity to play in the Martin Bowl will be a memory they carry with them for years to come.

We’re back for the 4th installment of the Greater Muhlenberg Parks & Recreation Men’s Open Basketball League!
This season, we’re offering 3 different leagues, including a NEW division designed for teams looking for a true recreational basketball experience!
πŸ”₯ Competitive League
πŸ€ Recreational League (Gold)
πŸ₯ˆ NEW β€” Recreational League (Silver)

NEW Recreational Silver League:
The Silver League is geared toward true recreational teams looking to play, compete, and have fun without the higher level of competition found in our other divisions.

πŸ‘‰ All Silver League rosters must be submitted and approved by Parks & Recreation staff to ensure teams fit the purpose and competitive level of the division.

πŸ“… IMPORTANT DATES & INFO
β€’ Registration Opens: September 1st
β€’ Registration Deadline: September 27th
β€’ Cost: $65 per player
β€’ Roster Limit: 10 players per team
β€’ Eligibility: Must be 18 or older AND currently out of high school. Current high school students are NOT eligible to participate.
β€’ MANDATORY Team Captain/Coach Meeting: September 27th @ 5:00 PM
β€’ League Begins: October 11th
β€’ Season Runs: October 11th – November 22nd
β€’ Games played every Sunday evening
β€’ Registration is available online or at the Badgett Center during normal business hours.

Updated DATES FOR EVALS

Evaluations for JR Pro Basketball (1st–6th Grade Boys & Girls) and Middle/High School Intramurals will be held:

πŸ“… September 28th, 29th & 30th
⏰ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
πŸ“ Badgett Center

Court Assignments:
β€’ Court #1: 1st & 2nd Grade Boys & Girls
β€’ Court #2: 3rd & 4th Grade Boys & Girls
β€’ Court #3: 5th & 6th Grade Boys & Girls
β€’ Court #4: Middle & High School Intramurals

πŸ€ COACHES: If you are signed up to coach in one of these leagues, we ask that you please attend evaluations to help score and evaluate players.

Players may come anytime between 5:30–7:30 PM on the evaluation dates.

🚨 REGISTRATION REMINDER: Registration is still open through Sunday, September 20th! Late registration will be available after the deadline, but a late fee will be charged.
