Coaching Girls: After a loss, she needs to know you still believe in her before she can hear a single thing you want her to fix.

You want to get better? Then stop playing scared in practice.

This is the ONLY place you get to fail without it costing you anything—and somehow it’s the place athletes play the tightest. Trying not to mess up. Trying to look clean. Trying to be perfect. That’s backwards.

Practice is where you let it rip. Miss spots. Spike balls. Throw the pitch you’re not comfortable with yet. Look bad. Seriously… look bad. Because that’s where the real work lives.

If you’re not failing in practice, you’re not actually pushing anything. You’re just staying safe. And safe doesn’t show up for you when the lights are on.

Softball is a game of failure. You will get hit. You will walk people. You will have innings that feel like a train wreck.

The ones who separate? They don’t flinch. They fail → adjust → move on. No meltdown. No spiral. No carrying it into the next pitch. Just compete.

So if you’re failing right now? Good. Now do something with it. Learn. Adjust. Go again. That’s the edge.
