Dear Cycling Friends, This 51 lot subdivision being proposed on Tubbs Mountain Road will put many cyclists at risk due to the high volume of cars. Please sign the attached petition and plan on coming to the planning committee meeting on September 25th at County Square on University Ridge conference room D at 4:30 p.m. to oppose the subdivision. Please share this with others within the cycling community.

I posted this review on Hincapie's reviews tab and sure enough, Hincapie hid their reviews tab so people couldn't see the countless negative reviews that several teams riding the Houston to Austin MS150 ride posted on there. So sadly, I have to repost on the wall for the sake of transparency and to let consumers know what a conniving company Hincapie sportswear is: Consumer BEWARE - avoid Hincapie products at all costs! I've made a career in consulting for retail and consumer products companies and have never encountered such inept customer service as with our dealings with Hincapie. It is hard to believe that a company with such little professionalism and a complete lack of integrity, honesty and transparency in their business dealings can stay in business. I was on a cycling team for the Houston to Austin MS150 and our gear provider was supposed to be Hincapie. We placed our order over a month ago and we each individually received an e-mail saying the gear would get to us the week of the race. I replied to the e-mail saying I was uncomfortable with the timeline and never received a response. Sure enough, our team never received the gear and instead received countless lies via every forum imaginable. As a group, we've been lied to regarding issues with the manufacturing process, customs and delivery. We received e-mails letting us know there was an issue with the manufacturing of our gear, but when we reached out to the company, they denied the issues (we have written confirmation from Hincapie). They claimed the products had been shipped on a Monday, then they claimed on a Tuesday. They claimed the product was stuck at customs, then claimed it was in Tennessee. Absolute and constant dishonesty coming from every person we've talked to there. The latest we've heard, is that, even though the 2 day race is over and we STILL have not received our gear, they're willing to refund us 25% for gear that was specific for that 2 day race. Obviously, the offer is unacceptable. I'm sure there are some fantastic people working at Hincapie doing some really great things, but everybody there should be ashamed to be represented by such terrible customer service professionals who ultimately are the face of your company.

Just leaving this here to let any future customers of this company know what they are in store for when dealing with this sham business. We all received emails assuring us that the kits would arrive in time and to make plans to sign for the shipment. The week we are supposed to receive our order comes, nothing. We are promised that we will receive them on time. Nothing. Week rolls on. Nothing. Day before the event. NOTHING! EVENT PASSES AND STILL Nothing. Hincapie's response? 25% off a kit that was for an event that has already passed. Not even a full refund! We were supposed to be in a jersey contest representing our team, wearing Hincapie gear. Instead we were the butt of jokes after we had to withdraw. We could have at least made alternate plans but we were assured that our kits were on the way. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with this company!

Founded in 1867, King University (originally King College) is a Presbyterian-affiliated Christian academic community dedicated to the integration of rigorous academic programming and the exploration of faith. The value of the school’s educational environment has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report, which has named King a Best Regional University in the South for nearly 30 consecutive years.

The cycling team, coached by Alan Sparks and Erin Sferrazza, has done well in the collegiate circuit, winning several national championships and collegiate championships over the years.

Gulf Coast Velo Cycling Club - Venice, Sarasota & Bradenton, Florida

Founded by Hincapie Ambassador Mark Schiefer and local SW Florida cyclist Joe Gonzales, Gulf Coast Velo (GCV) is a three year old, 150 member amateur cycling club promoting the health, education and social benefits of safe cycling in and around Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties (Florida). Members of GCV also participate in clean, safe racing throughout the southeastern United States. GCV has received recognition and numerous awards from local city, county and state governments for their work to improve cycling safety and raises thousands of dollars yearly for local families in need through the “Tour de Femme” women’s charity ride. When something needs to be done in the local cycling community, GCV has become the “go-to” club to make it happen.

Team Spotlight: Tri-Cities Road Club - Eastern TN

For over 30 years, TCRC has promoted cycling in northeast Tennessee and continues to be the region's strongest voice for cycling advocacy. Members can participate in both recreational and fitness focused group rides, bicycle racing, and community service. Although best known for road racing and cyclo-cross, the club membership ranges from beginners to recreational riders to racers.

In just a few short years, it's grown into a significant charity ride, educational-based social media campaigns, and a network of riders that spans the globe thanks to their innovative rider engagement when shifting to virtual in 2020. Given the current pandemic situation and resulting mental health affects on millions of Americans, it seems a perfect highlight for the holiday season.
