The Greenville Kendo Club had a fantastic time participating in the Bon Dance Festival at McAlister Square this past Saturday, alongside the Columbia and Charleston Kendo Clubs. It was a wonderful opportunity to share Japanese culture, and we were excited to meet so many people who expressed interest in joining our practice.

Finally! Our first practice in new dojo will be held this Saturday, August 8th, 10:30AM to 12:30PM at the new location, 499 S Pleasantburg Dr, Greenville, SC. It is across from Greenville Tech.

Today we received confirmation of the opening date of the new location. It is not what we had hoped, but at least we have a definite date now.

The official opening date of their place is Monday August 3. That means no practice for us on Saturday August 1.

Our first practice will be on Saturday August 8 10:30 to 12:30 at the new location. The address is 499 S Pleasantburg Dr, Greenville, SC. It is across from Greenville Tech.

We hope to see everyone at keiko on August 8. We appreciate your patience with this long process.

Dance studio received approval from the city building inspector on Wednesday. They hoped to receive the occupancy permit on Thursday. As of Friday morning, they were still waiting. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about it.

Because of the uncertainty and short notice, we will cancel the practice that had been tentatively scheduled for tomorrow, July 25.

We fully expect that we will resume keiko next Saturday (August 1).

We will notify you as soon as we receive confirmation from the dance studio.

Please attend practice in Columbia on Sunday if you can. We hope to see everyone next week at our new Greenville dojo.

Regarding the new space, they have to have another inspection by the city next week.

As such, we will not practice in Greenville on July 18. We will tentatively plan to resume keiko in Greenville on Saturday July 25 at 10:30 am at the new location.

We apologize for the ongoing delays; unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to speed up the process.

While we are eager to restart practice, please continue suburi at home as much as you reasonably can, and attend keiko in Columbia if possible.

Hi Everyone!

Due to the dance studio's moving schedule, we must cancel this coming Saturday's practice. As mentioned earlier, the new location will not be ready until July. Therefore, starting next weekend and continuing throughout June, please do your best to attend the Columbia Kendo Club's Sunday practices, which Ishimori-sensei has kindly offered to let us join. Their practice takes place every Sunday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the Dance Room at the Seven Oaks Park Gymnasium. Address: 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia, SC 29210

Hello everyone, today's practice was great, especially with two potential new members participating. Please mark your calendars for our final practice at the Woodruff Rd location, which will be held next Saturday, May 30th, prior to our relocation. We are currently targeting a start date of July 4th or 11th for practices at the new location, pending construction completion. We will notify you as soon as the new location is ready. In the meantime, Columbia Kendo Club's Ishimori Sensei has extended an invitation for us to join their Sunday practices throughout June. We encourage all members to participate in these sessions while we await the new dojo. We wish you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week.
