Happy 4th of July, Everyone!!

This Saturday we held a Black Sash presentation for one of Young Forest's most dedicated students; Tony Ison. Earning a Black Sash (Black Belt) is a great accomplishment and milestone in traditional martial arts. If there was ever an example of what a Black Sash student is Mr. Ison would be it. Great job Mr. Ison and all those who've helped and contributed to his journey!

What abother great Friendship Seminar with Sifu Scott Staplton and Shaolin Kung Fu Wing Chun Kuen! Great training and great kung fu fellowship! Can't wait for the next one!

How did you all spend your holiday? We kitted-up, deployed to an undisclosed location, and battled it out in close quarters Nerf battles. In blatant breaches of etiquette I had students shoot me (their Sifu), and one student try and knife me with my own knife 😀 All in good fun as you can see from the pictures! The kwoon that plays together stays together!

Here at Young Forest Martail Arts we are very appreciative of our service men and women who volunteer to serve so that the rest of us don't have to. And we are even more appreciative of those who gave their lives in service to all of us who make up this country. Finally, we are appreciative of the families that lost a loved one in the service of this great country. If you have lost an immediate loved one in the line of duty, come to our teahouse (Blue Lantern Tea) and tea will be on us today.

Young Forest females in effect and representing at the Dragon and Tiger Challenge hosted by Shaolin Kung Fu Wing Chun. A great Tournament hosted by a great school! We look forward to their next one!

Trash Bash 2026: the proud, the few this year, bashing it up! Take that you stupid trash! Oh yeah, there were snakes. Lots of snakes. By "Lots of" I saw five myself and the kids held one 😀🐍 Thanks to all the volunteers who participate in Trash Bash, and thanks to Darke County Solid Waste for organizing such a great event!
