Recently, I celebrated 10 years in practice with my staff! š
From day one, Iāve made it a priority to celebrate my team by recognizing work anniversaries, marking important milestones, and making sure people feel seen and valued (even when I donāt want to). Itās not just a nice gestureā¦itās a core part of building a strong culture and retaining great people. This time, my team turned it around and celebrated me as we celebrated 10 years of !
It was an important reminder of what Iāve actually built over the last decade. Not just a practiceā¦but a team, a culture, and a group of people who genuinely care about the patients we serve.
If youāre a practice owner, donāt overlook this. Celebrating your team isnāt extra, itās one of the most practical things you can do to build loyalty and longevity in your clinic. If you want a team that sticks together, grows together, and shows up like this, be sure to listen to āMillion Dollar Chiro: The Podcast for Chiropractic Practice Owners,ā where I discuss how to build that inside your own practice.

If your team lacks motivation⦠itās usually not a motivation problem. Itās a leadership and hiring problem.
In Episode 66, we break down what motivation actually looks like inside a chiropractic practice ā and why itās not about hype, perks, or constantly trying to āpump people up.ā
It comes down to who you hire, what you tolerate, and the standard you set as a leader.
You can refine skill. You can train systems. But you canāt teach someone to care. If someone doesnāt want to be there, no amount of motivation tactics will fix that. Thatās why having the right hiring funnel matters.
If you need help with that, head to milliondollarchiro.co. Iāve put together a hiring funnel guide that walks you through exactly what to look for (and the red flags to avoid) š© when building your team.

Stop pouring energy into the wrong people ā ļø
Last week on āMillion Dollar Chiro: The Podcast for Chiropractic Practice Owners,ā we talked about how to set up systems for creating a motivated team. A big part of that is making sure you have the right people on staff.
Hereās the reality: itās much easier to refine workplace skills than it is to motivate someone who doesnāt care.
You can train systems. You can coach communication. You can improve performance. But you canāt teach someone to care about being there. If someone doesnāt want to show up, take ownership, and be part of the team, no amount of your time as a leader will fix that.
Your energy is better spent on the people who do want to be there, the employees who are coachable, engaged, and ready to grow. Thatās how you actually build a motivated team.
š§ Tune in wherever you get your podcasts for a discussion on building a team thatās motivated for your chiropractic practice.

Are you underestimating your front desk staff? Theyāre not ājust answering phonesā āļøĀ ⦠theyāre shaping your entire patient experience. If this role isnāt dialed in, your practice feels it. If the front desk is providing patients with a great first impression, it helps your practice retain patients and attract new ones.
This is the most underestimated position in your clinic, and it could be costing you growth.

š½ļøĀ Flashback to 2016, the grand opening of my first practice in Greenville, South Carolina! I was so busy after opening my doors in October 2015 that it took me months to have enough time to even plan a grand opening.
When I first started my practice, I had just graduated from and moved back to my hometown with $50k cash š°saved in a shoebox from waiting tables and a vision to build something of my own.
Looking back, I had no idea how much I would learn, how many mistakes Iād make, or how much Iād grow not just as a chiropractor, but as a business owner. And thatās exactly why I started Million Dollar Chiro. I remember what those early days felt like - the uncertainty, the pressure, the excitement, all of it. I want to help make the process easier for doctors who are just starting out by giving them the knowledge I gained from both my early successes and my mistakes.
No matter where you are in your journey, Iām here to support you. If youāre in the early stages of planning your new practice, if youāve only just begun thinking about starting a practice, or if youāve already started your practice and youāre just trying to figure things out, I can help because no matter where you are, Iāve been in your shoes. š
šļøĀ Tune into the āMillion Dollar Chiro: The Podcast for Chiropractic Practice Ownersā for episodes on leadership, marketing, and business development - just for chiropractors.
Hot take: The front desk is the hardest position in the office. š„
Now hear me outā¦
Every other role in your clinic can be systemized and controlled to a degree. The doctor knows whoās coming in and when. There is a leader managing the traffic and timing of each patient. The flow is structured. Youāre operating in your zone.
The front desk? Itās controlled chaos.
Theyāre managing whoever walks through the door, answering nonstop questions, handling phones, emotions, schedules, payments, problems - all in real time. And somehow the front desk is still expected to create an incredible first impression every single time.
Thatās why this role matters more than you think when it comes to patient experience.
In this episode, we break down
- What to look for in a front desk hire
- How to train them the right way
- Why this role can make or break your practice
