One of our National Group swimmers, Kate McKinnon, had a BIG summer! ☀️

In July, she competed at the Toyota National Championships, where she:

* Qualified for the 2026-2027 USA Swimming National Junior Team.

* Earned a spot on the Junior Pan Pacific Championships team.

* Posted a 50 freestyle that ranks top-10 ALL TIME for 15–16 girls.

Then she took it international! In August, Kate represented Team USA 🇺🇸 at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Vancouver, BC competing against 14 other countries.

There she added to USA’s medal count (51) by bringing home a gold and a silver! 🥇🥈

We’re incredibly proud of Kate and the way she represents Colorado, our sport and our Aquawolf family. 🐺💙

What an unforgettable week at Senior Western Zones! 🐺💙

From the very first race of the meet—the 50 Backstroke—to the final event, the 400 Medley Relay, our Aquawolves competed with heart, confidence, and relentless determination. Every athlete played a part in an incredible team performance.

Across more than 130 individual and relay swims (plus additional lifetime bests in time trials), our team posted an astounding 80% lifetime-best swim rate, dropping nearly three minutes off our combined seed times.

🏆 Meet Highlights:
• 56 individual finals swims
• 11 relay finals (Top 16), including Championship titles in the Boys 200 Medley Relay and Boys 200 Freestyle Relay
• Cade Palmateer captured the 50 Fly title with a meet-record performance and earned a Summer Juniors qualifying time
• Multiple new Futures and Sectionals cuts across the team
• High Point honors for Chase Emerson (94 points) and Lauren Tacha (57 points)
• 4th place overall out of 80 teams

While the results were incredible, what made us the proudest was who our athletes were outside the water. Coaches from other teams and meet officials consistently went out of their way to compliment our swimmers—not just for how they raced, but for the way they supported one another, respected their competitors, and represented Aquawolves with class.

Congratulations to every athlete, coach, and family. Your hard work, commitment, and team-first attitude were on full display all week. The future is incredibly bright for Aquawolves, and we couldn’t be prouder. 💙🐺

FIRST TIME WINNING STATE 🥇13 and older large team winners!! It is amazing to see how far we have come. So proud 🥹 so much hard work and dedication to make this happen. Grateful for all our families. Everyone that has helped support and grow our team!! Couldn’t have done it without you all.
