The Jennings County High School community is heartbroken by the unexpected passing of JCHS Head Baseball Coach BJ Sigler on Thursday.

Coach Sigler’s impact reached far beyond the baseball field. He was a dedicated husband and father, a local business owner, a longtime former assistant coach with the JCHS football program, a dedicated member of our community, and a friend to so many.

BJ was a competitor in every sense of the word. He loved to compete, loved his teams, and wanted the very best for the young people he coached. But as competitive as he was, he was equally giving. BJ was always willing to step up, lend a hand, give his time, or help someone in need—and he never expected anything in return.

BJ cared deeply about Jennings County and the people who call it home. Throughout the years, he positively impacted countless student-athletes, coaches, families, and community members. His presence, generosity, friendship, and commitment to our Panthers will be deeply missed.

We know this loss will be difficult for many of our students. Counselors are available at JCHS for any student who is struggling or needs someone to talk to during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Sigler’s family, his players, fellow coaches, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
