Hi everyone 😊 While I was in class last night, Jen talked about “Renewing Your Mind.” I wanted to share this ENCOURAGING word from a friend of mine. She and her mom and other mom and daughter start a business I'm in called Trades Of Hope. She's always uplifting through her videos with her family and friends. But anyways I just saw this and wanted to ENCOURAGE 💚💚 😊💗

Yesterday I realized that there is a huge difference between believing in God and believing God. I have for so many years believed in God and have seen him work in so many other people lives. Then I talked with a friend who challenged me to begin believing God and all He promises to do. She even challenged me to write it on myself as well as post it multiple places to see it to remind myself to change my thinking. So this is the first place I wrote it cause I will see it constantly.
Broken. Unlovable. Anxious. Insecure. Damaged goods. Not good enough. Unable to have a healthy relationship. I could go on and on with the lies that have filled my head for years. For a long time I have let deep hurt define who I am. (loss of a baby, rejection, physical and emotional abuse, failed relationships, betrayal, divorce). It left me feeling worthless. But Jesus tells me a different story. He says I am VALUABLE. He has given me 2 beautiful girls to love and raise. I desperately want them to be healthy and learn how Jesus defines them, instead of how the world does. He has given me an amazing husband that I love and respect. Those are huge responsibilities that I don't take lightly. I know I won't always get it right with my family, but thankfully there is grace for those moments. So I have to choose each day if I'm going to listen to the lies that bring me down. Or if I'm going to listen to HIS truth. I am valuable to Jesus, and you are too. - Ash ❤

Good morning everyone, I would like to start a prayer chain in this group today. It's for a woman Anne who has been battling cancer. 2 months ago, her son was killed in a car accident. The day before his funeral service was when she found out the cancer was worse than they thought. She has gotten worse since then and got news this week that she may only have a few days left to live. I believe in the power of prayer and I do believe in miracles. I am asking everyone to please pray for super natural healing for Anne. Please keep Anne, her husband and their 2 sons in your prayers as this family needs all the support they can get. Thank you so much ❤

Leg and Core Workout

Equipment Needed:
Kettlebell (option: dumbbell)
Bosu (option: yoga mat)

What is a bosu?
The BOSU looks like an exercise ball that has been cut in half . You can use it dome-side-up almost like a step and stand on it, sit on it, lie down on it or bounce around on it for cardio, lower body strength, or core moves. You can turn it over and use the platform side for upper body, lower body and core exercises.

What does it work?
The Bosu will challenge your balance, improve your core strength, and stability. So it does a lot!

If you do not have a Bosu, you can omit the Bosu and do the following exercises on the floor.

Lower Body:
* Kettlebell Goblet Squat, 20 reps
* Lunge to Press, 10 reps on each leg
* Right Side Squat/High Pull/Left Side Squat, 10 reps
* Kettlebell Swing, 1 minute
* Rest 1 minute/Repeat 2x

Bosu Core: Each exercise 40 seconds on/20 seconds off
*Remember:
* Tighten your core by “drawing your belling button towards your spine.”
* Breathe! Don’t hold your breath.

* Mountain Climbers
* Sit Ups
* Plank Knee to Elbow
* Plank Knee Taps
* Rest 1 minute/Repeat 2x

Happy Tuesday! Join us in making this recipe from Week 3 of our Unstuck Challenge meal plan.

Spinach Artichoke Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients:
- 1 cup uncooked quinoa or rice, thoroughly rinsed and drained
- 2 cups reduced sodium vegetable stock or sub water—slightly less flavorful
- 5 large red bell peppers (or yellow or orange), halved, seeds and membranes removed
- 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
- 20 ounces spinach leaves fresh or frozen (if using frozen, thaw and thoroughly press dry)
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 can artichoke hearts (14 ounces), drained and chopped
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 cup freshly grated part skim Mozzarella provolone, or similar melty Italian cheese
- 1/2 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt

Instructions:

● Add quinoa and vegetable stock to a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the liquid is absorbed, about 12 minutes. Remove from the heat, fluff with a fork, then cover and let sit for 15
additional minutes.
● Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange the peppers in the dish, cut sides up.
● Heat the olive oil in a large, deep saute pan over medium high. If using fresh spinach, add the spinach in small handfuls, stirring as it wilts down, until you have added all of the leaves. If using frozen spinach, add it in a few larger
handfuls, breaking up any clumps of leaves as you go.
● To the skillet, add the garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Let cook 30 seconds, then add the artichoke hearts and cook until warmed through. Remove from the heat. Stir in the quinoa, parsley, 2/3 cup of the cheese, then the Greek yogurt.
● Generously stuff the peppers with the quinoa filling. Lightly coat a sheet of foil larger enough to cover the peppers with cooking spray, then cover the dish with foil, spray-side down. Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees, covered, then remove
foil, sprinkle the remaining 1/3 cup cheese over the top, and continue baking 5-10 additional minutes, until peppers are cooked to desired tenderness and the cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Removing strongholds looks a lot like healing. Many times they have developed because of previous hurts we have experienced. They have become a way for us to protect ourselves, a way for us to work through unwanted emotions.⁣

In John 5, Jesus saw a lame man lying next to the pool of Bethesda, a pool believed to lead to miraculous healing. Jesus approached him and asked him, “Do you want to be healed?” You see, this man had been there for many years. He had given up hope saying, he couldn’t get in because others got in before him and because no one would help him. He was giving excuses and maybe having a pity party. Sound familiar?⁣

We all do it. We are gongho with our new routines and when we fail, we come up with an excuse. When things get a little too hard, we find an excuse to cover the choice we made. No judgement, but let’s get real, we love making excuses.⁣

Jesus is asking you, “Do you want to be healed?” Write the first things that come to mind. Don’t think about a right or wrong answer. Answer truthfully, even if it may sound like an excuse. Once we acknowledge it, Jesus can heal it.⁣

Healing will take time. Healing will take commitment. Healing will take us being honest with the motivation as to why we are staying stuck. Are we making excuses? Are we throwing a pity party? Are we blaming others?⁣

Jesus didn’t ask you the question because He doesn’t know the answer. Jesus knows what’s in our hearts. He doesn’t want to only get you unstuck, He wants to awaken you to all He has planned for you.⁣

This month we are challenging you to get UNSTUCK from unhealthy habits and lies you believe about yourself and others.

We are also challenging you to try something new. We know it’s easy to get stuck in the same routine and not branch out and try something new due to fear. Every Friday, we are challenging you to try something new. Also, don’t do it alone. Grab a friend and/or family member and have them join you.

This week’s challenge: attend a group fitness class!

We understand that walking into a group fitness class can be scary and overwhelming. Maybe you have had these thoughts:

- What if I am the weakest person in the room?
- What equipment do I use?
- What if I mess up or worse, cannot finish the workout!
- What if the instructor screams at me the whole time.
- What if I am the only guy in the class?
- I am too old to try something new.

What I love about group fitness (especially Whole Fitness) is the community. You will attend a class with a variety of fitness levels with one goal in mind: to get healthy, whole and free.

Things you won’t hear in a Whole Fitness class:
• Suck it up!
• You can do better than that!
•Sweat is your fat crying!
• No pain, no gain. Now shut up and train!

Things you will hear in a Whole Fitness class:
• You do you!
• Don’t look to the left or to the right to compare. (thanks @wellnesswitness )
• You are here to get healthy mind, body and soul.
• This is your get to not your have to.
• If you are moving you are doing it right. (thanks @alisakeeton )

Full Body Circuit Workout 👟⁣⁣

Circuit training is a style of workout where you cycle through several exercises targeting different muscle groups with minimal rest in between. The result is a workout that taxes your muscular strength, endurance, and your cardiorespiratory system. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Reasons I LOVE circuit training:⁣⁣
* Boredom Buster - it keeps you moving and it provides a lot of variety. ⁣⁣
* More burn in less time - it allows you to combine cardio and strength moves, that will allow you to burn 9-10 calories per minute.  A 30 minute circuit training workout can burn up to 300 calories! ⁣⁣

- Box (option: stairs)⁣⁣
- Set of Dumbbells (option: soup cans, water bottles, etc)⁣⁣

A lot of us want to help but don’t feel we have a voice.

During our journey of becoming unstuck, we may be tempted to believe it will never happen. We may be tempted to believe it is hopeless or pointless. You may have tried previously, maybe even many times before. You may feel like Paul when he said, “I do not do what I want, but do the very thing I hate.” (Romans 7:15)⁣

But, here’s the thing, God wants us to be unstuck. He wants to remove our strongholds. The enemy wants to make you believe you can’t do it, but God wants you to know you can do all things through Christ. All things.⁣

Ask God how freedom will look for you. What are you getting unstuck from, this very moment.⁣

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1) Don’t let the enemy tell you it is impossible. God says anything is possible. Let’s believe what He says. If you find it difficult to believe, ask Him to help your unbelief.⁣

Our first challenge is: go on a hike.
It wasn't’ until this past year that I found out that many of us, who live in the Greer/Greenville/Spartanburg, have never been on a hike! This is one of our family’s favorite activities to do together. During quarantine this kept us sane. Every Saturday we loaded up in our minivan and went on a hike. On one of the hikes, I will never forget one of my daughters saying, “Mom, I forgot that Covid existed.” This was due to getting away, turning our phones off and enjoying God’s creation with our family. What a sweet gift from God.

Reasons why we love it so much:
• We are outdoors
• No electronics
• Our children actually enjoy each other
• Conversations with one another
• Green therapy (this is a real thing)
• Worship (we love being in God’s creation)

If you are new to hiking, it can be overwhelming and you may not know where to start.

Here are some helpful tips:
• Wear comfortable clothes
• Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots.
• Take water and a healthy snack
• Be present. Turn off your phone.
• Go with a buddy.

Suggestion: Lake Conestee Nature Preserve - This is a great hike for beginners and is close to Greenville. Paris Mountain State Park is also a great place to hike that is close by.

If you are new to hiking or a pro, checkout our stories for places to hike in our area. If you go on a hike, take a pic and tag us. We would love to see where you went
