We are an all-girls, high school FIRST robotics team. Grateful to our sponsors for this opportunity. We welcome ALL girls from all area high schools.

Our mission:
"Our all-girls robotics team is dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering environment where diversity, sisterhood, and creativity thrive. We aim to challenge stereotypes, embrace leadership opportunities, and inspire everyone to explore the limitless possibilities of robotics, teamwork, and innovation." We are an all-girls, high school FIRST robotics team that began in January of 2023. We are a community-based team, whose founding sponsor is the Grosse Pointe branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Why all girls? Females are grossly underrepresented in STEM careers, representing only ~27% of the workforce? The Botmasterz are committed to expanding a future of equal opportunity — and equal rewards — in the workforce. For this to happen, it is critical to remove gender-based barriers that keep girls from pursuing their dreams and reaching their potential. Robotics is one way we can do this; together. We believe in learning with an eye toward tomorrow’s economy: The fastest growing, most well-paid sectors require Science, Technology, Engineering and Math expertise. Robotics also helps our team develop soft skills, such as problem solving, self-directed learning, communication, leadership, collaboration and creativity. How you can help:
We can’t do this important work alone. If you would like to support our team, please donate to the (501(c)3) Grosse Pointe Foundation of Public Education and name “Botmasterz High School” in the description: https://gpfpe.org/donate/.

🤯👏What a fun place to run into one of our supporters!
We love seeing Senator Hertel stopping by the house of our team captain’s grandpa and talking robotics! Senator Kevin Hertel, thank you so much for believing in the Botmasterz, believing in our students, and supporting the opportunities that robotics creates for young people. Your support has meant so much to our team, and we are incredibly grateful.
And we have to admit... talking robotics in the driveway next to a classic car with the hood up feels pretty appropriate for the Botmasterz. 🔧🤖
Thank you, Senator Hertel, for believing in us and helping us build something bigger than robots.

You never know who you’re going to meet knocking doors.

This week, I ran into a gentleman working on a classic car in his driveway. He recognized my name and told me I had recently met with his granddaughters’ robotics team a few months back. Now, I not only have a better idea of where her engineering skills come from, but I see how much showing up for our community matters.

My visit with Grosse Pointe South High School’s Botmasterz team gave me a firsthand look at the incredible things students can accomplish with a strong STEM education. From that conversation, I went back to Lansing and got to work securing funding for the organization to expand it’s footprint in the community and open a new Robotics and Innovation Center that will provide even more students the opportunity to explore the world of robotics.

🏈🤖 Robotics + rivalry night = the perfect combination!

Tonight, we teamed up with our 'lil sisters FTC Team 17975 Botmasterz and Brownell Broncobotics middle school robotics team and Brownell Broncobotics for one of our district’s favorite traditions: the Grosse Pointe North vs. Grosse Pointe South football game and community tailgate!

We put a sweet twist on this year’s robot demo. 🍬 Our game pieces, called FUEL, were filled with candy and launched by the robot for kids to catch! They grabbed the candy, fed the FUEL back into the robot, and we launched it all over again.

But the best part wasn’t the candy. ❤️

We loved talking with kids, families, and community members about robotics and seeing so many people stop, ask questions, get involved, and want to learn more.

The robot gets their attention. The possibilities of robotics keep them there. 🤖💙

What a great night for our teams, our schools, and our Grosse Pointe community!

💛🖤🤖 What a day at the Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition!🖤💛🚨

For us, girls driving, drive coaching, programming, scouting, working in the pits, and making strategy decisions is just what we do.

We loved competing alongside fellow all-girls teams the Constellations and SaddleBots.

But what makes this event so special is seeing girls from other teams step into roles they may not normally fill. It gives them a chance to get outside their comfort zones, try something new, and realize, “Hey, I can do this!” 💛

We finished qualifications ranked 8th of 25 with a 5-3 record, became captains of Alliance #6, and teamed up with FRC Team 6861: The Livonia Tyros and FIRST Team 302 The Dragons.

And our senior and team captain Allie had an AMAZING day! 💛🖤She received one of five $1,000 college scholarships for her essay about how robotics has changed her life AND was interviewed by ! 🎙️

💜🤖
We wrapped up Day 1 at Goonettes ranked 9th out of 35 teams with a solid 6-3 record! We're looking forward to more qualification matches tomorrow.

What made today especially inspiring was seeing young women shine in every key role across all 35 teams. Girls stepped into positions as drivers, operators, coaches, technicians, strategists, scouts, announcers, field techs, and pit crew members. For many, these were new and challenging responsibilities that pushed them beyond their usual roles.

Throughout the day, they demonstrated confidence, leadership, resilience, technical expertise, and teamwork. It was amazing to watch them take on these opportunities and prove that they belong in every aspect of robotics and STEM.

We're proud to be part of an event that empowers young women to lead, learn, and grow. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Rest in peace, barrier breaker

“We had to find a way and we did. Looking back, we were the luckiest people in the world; there was no choice but to be pioneers.” —Margaret Hamilton

Rest in peace, Margaret. Your trailblazing work leading the development of the on-board flight software for the Apollo spacecraft will forever be remembered.
