Official Infield Playing Surface of MiLB. Engineered Soil Technology® outperforms other methods because it is based on Soil Science, Not Guesswork. Grant’s E.S.T.® Program (patent pending) assesses the current state of the infield, then prescribes specific corrective measures to transform a poor infield into one with the highest performance possible.
A full field renovation takes skill, planning, and the right materials at every stage. Watch a Homefield crew take this infield from teardown to game ready.
A professional baseball infield contains roughly 11,300 square feet of exposed dirt. Between the infield skin, baselines, mound, and home plate area, that's about 200 to 220 tons of engineered infield mix.

A field renovation is only as good as the crew doing the work. Our Homefield crews follow proven techniques on every project, ensuring the field is built to perform for years, not just for one season.

The pitcher's mound and home plate area see more action than any other part of the baseball field because they're involved in every single pitch. To minimize wear, these areas are built with moist, densely packed clay that holds up to constant foot traffic from pitchers, batters, and catchers.
