Mayes Sports Management works hand in hand with Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) and its Certified Agents in representing athletes. Johnny Mayes is the founder and owner of Mayes Sports Management. He is an attorney licensed by the Florida Bar, a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, and an Agent Advisor with Sports Management Worldwide ("SMWW"). Johnny grew up in the Pensacola area and make

He graduated from Gulf Breeze High School in 1991, received his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies in 1994 from the University of West Florida, and received his Juris Doctor from St. After passing the Florida Bar exam, Johnny became a licensed attorney and began practicing law in Florida in 1998. Johnny’s legal practice has focused on civil litigation, and since 1998 he has primarily represented individuals in complex actions against big corporations. As a result, Johnny has extensive experience in negotiating and settling lawsuits, and potential lawsuits, against these big corporations. He has an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected as a Super Lawyer in Florida for several years. In addition, he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. As an Agent Advisor with SMWW, Johnny Mayes has been mentored by Dr. Lynn Lashbrook and by Joel Corey. In order to become an Agent Advisor, Johnny has shown proficiency in all areas demanded and required by SMWW, including ethics, fiduciary obligations, athlete management, collective bargaining agreements, contract negotiations, athlete skill recognition, marketing, recruiting, sponsorships and endorsements, among others. As a member of the SMWW Team, Johnny works closely with the Certified Agents at SMWW in representing athletes in a manner that puts the athlete’s best interests first. Mayes Sports Management will work hand in hand with SMWW and its Certified Agents in representing athletes. Johnny Mayes believes that an athlete is best represented by an agent who closely follows the fiduciary obligations owed to the athlete. A fiduciary duty is the highest duty recognized under the law and in the athlete management setting, it means that Johnny always puts the athlete’s interests ahead of all other interests. As a life-long resident of the Pensacola area, Johnny has access to an extensive network of professionals that can provide additional support to the athlete. These include multiple professionals in each area the athlete may need assistance, such as financial advisors, tax advisors, personal trainers, and even Board-Certified physicians at the Andrews Institute located in his hometown of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Johnny understands that an Agent Advisor must provide the athlete with all the resources necessary to be successful in the athlete’s profession, whether those resources are from Johnny personally or from a third party. In addition, he understands that his role is to help ensure that the athlete effectively manages his or her earnings, so that the athlete is ready for the stages of life after his or her playing career.

Chris Sarver is an Agent Advisor with SMWW and joined Johnny Mayes and Mayes Sports Management in 2020. Chris' attention to detail and his passion for all facets of sports is evident and has been demonstrated throughout his body of work. He has lifelong experience in a variety of facets of the sports industry which includes starting his own business as a Strength and Conditioning Trainer. Chris trained a myriad of athletes ranging from youth, collegiate and professional players in baseball, basketball, hockey, and football. Chris was able to meet, assess and establish genuine relationships with parents, coaches, and players to partner with them in establishing and meeting their physical training goals. These relationships became the foundation for which he built skills to be a successful athlete agent advisor and friend. Chris moved on to a position as an Agent Advisor so he could better fulfill his passion of helping athletes achieve their dreams of playing in the professional ranks. Chris was mentored by Joel Corry and Dr. Lynn Lashbrook in Sports Management Worldwide’s Athlete Management course. He satisfied all requirements to become an Agent Advisor which includes agent regulations, player association legalities, and contract negotiations. In addition, the course covered endorsements, sponsorships, ethics collective bargaining agreements, draft preparation, marketing and recruiting. Chris has had several opportunities and experiences working with and representing players in both ice hockey and American Football. Chris is well versed and prepared to represent and address all his players' needs. Chris is eager and ambitious in continuing to seek professional development to keep current in the ever-changing rules and regulations. Chris is highly dedicated to the best interests of his professional athletes while promoting honesty and integrity as an integral component of a successful athlete/client relationship. By serving as a primary contact to the athletes, Chris is known to effectively communicate everything from contracts to consultations. This allows the athlete to concentrate on being the best athlete they can on a playing field, court, or ice. Chris takes pride in his work and works closely with the Certified Agents at SMWW in representing athletes in a manner that puts the athlete’s best interests first.
