Week 2 Mere Mortals Recap 🚴🏊🏃

A little rain wasn’t enough to stop this crew! We had a great turnout for Week 2, with 150 athletes showing up despite the clouds and showers.

The swim went on as planned, and while we unfortunately had several riders suffer flat tires from a significant amount of glass on the roads, we’re happy to report there were no injuries. The run in the rain actually felt pretty refreshing compared to our usual 1,000% humidity and blazing sunshine! The cloud cover was definitely appreciated.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who worked hard setting up, breaking down, and helping everything run smoothly. You all absolutely crushed it!

We also spent time discussing bike safety, rules of the road, courtesy, and kindness. Hopefully everyone left with at least a couple of new tips or reminders to help make our rides safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

The orange emergency bracelets were well utilized today. Each bracelet contains the emergency contact number of a board member. Please continue to:
🟠 Grab a bracelet before heading out.
🟠 Hopefully never need to use the number.
🟠 Return it to the collection bin at the end of the morning.
