Obituary
MSgt. John E. Conley (USAF Retired), 85, passed away on July 6, 2022 in Gulfport. He was born in Rochester, NY to Ralph Spencer and Mildred White Spencer in 1937, and later adopted by William T. Conley. On June 28, 1958 he married his beloved wife Sally, in Fishkill, New York. Together they had three daughters, all born in Austin, Texas. They followed John around with his military career as John was given different assignments throughout his career.
They settled on the Mississippi Gulf Coast after John served in Viet Nam, 1970-71, and received orders for his final assignment at Keesler AFB. John retired in 1977 as Master Sergeant after serving over 22 years in the United States Air Force. Soon after, he embarked on his second career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he taught vocational education.
He served at his church, and enjoyed many outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents (listed above).
He is survived by his wife, Sally A. Conley of Ocean Springs; three daughters, Maryanne Coke, Kathleen Conley, Mildred Rivers (Bruce); seven grandchildren, Lisa Strickland, Jonathan Cook, Milissa Anne McClelland (Skyler), Diana Lee Farrington (Hunter), Patrick Wayne Rivers, Savanna Dyer (R.J), Elliott Coke; and 8 great grandchildren, Ethan Strickland, Hannah Strickland, Coen Strickland, Ender Greyson McClelland, Triston Farrington, Maverick Farrington, Jax Farrington, and Zander Dyer.
Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Gulf Coast Church 362 Popp's Ferry Rd, Biloxi, MS 39531. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.
