🚨‼️MEET THE INSTRUCTOR‼️🚨
Kris Cangelosi

Kris is the former Artistic Director of the Cangelosi Dance Project School and Company for the past 40 years. She has transition into freelance work teaching, coaching, judging and consulting dance companies and artists.
She is certified member of Dance Educators of America; Dance Masters of America Chapter 3 (STADT) voted 2023 STADT member of the year and served as a STADT board member for six years. Kris is a past Miss Dance of Dixie/DMA Chapter 37 and received several scholarships as a dance student.
Kris has taught on the prestigious faculty with Atlanta School of Ballet, Breanu University, Ballet Tennessee, Virginia School of the Arts, University of South Carolina, Columbia Classical, Griffin Ballet, St. Joseph's Academy Dance Department, Gulf Coast School of Performing Arts in MS and several others for the past forty years.
She has been a guest teacher at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS, Dance Educators of America Las Vegas Nationals, several summers at the South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory, Tanzproject in Bonn Germany, Georgia Governors Summer School and several others.
Her choreographic works have been performed for the University of South Carolina Centennial Gala and their dance program, Southeastern University dance department, University of Lafayette dance department, Ballet Tennessee Company and School, Griffin Ballet, Georgia Dance Theatre, Giacobbe Academy of dance, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre in Biloxi to name a few. She has received many reviews from NYC Fringe Festival, Scotland Fringe Festival, SC Columbia Times, Choreography awards at Alabama Panoply Festival a two-time overall winner, American College Dance Festivals, Mount Baker Ballet Washington, Pacific Regional Ballet Festival, Southwest Regional Ballet Festival, New York City Fringe Festival, Jazz Dance World Congresses in Chicago, and Buffalo, Columbia Classical Ballet Gala, The International Choreographers Showcase in Spain, Austria, Scotland and Lithuanian.
Kris choreographed "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum", "Singin in the Rain" and "Best Little W***e House in Texas" for Theatre Baton Rouge/Baton Rouge Little Theatre.
Her full time professional performance career for twenty years included modern dance companies in Atlanta with Several Dancers Core under Sue Schroder with performances in Atlanta, Houston, NYC. Additional companies were Dance Force Company under Douglas Scott and featured in Peter Pucci and randy James work, and Room to Move under Amy Gately. She was featured in the Walt Disney Magical Moments held at the Fox Theatre and featured performer with International Choreographers tour in Spain, Austria, Scotland and Lithuania.
She has judged and taught for Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, KAR, Headliners, Elite Dance Cup, Encore Competitions, Dance Troupe, Little Miss Louisiana Beauty Pageant, International Cinderella Pageant,
Pure International Pageant, and others.
Kris received the 2014 Louisiana Arts Leadership award, named 2014 Most Influential
business women, 2017 Women Center LSU Eprit de femme award, Power of 9 award by WAFB, 2015 Honoree at the Manship Theatre, and 2023 Best Dressed honoree.
Kris is active in the community and a member of City Club Baton Rouge, Quota Baton Rouge, Member and Queen with Krewe of Artemis, Queen of Krewe Orion and Orion Queen Club member, Best Dressed Cancer Ball Committee (Capital Gala), Big Buddy program, Dancing for a Cause program, Capital Area United Way, and continues to serve the community with dance performances through main stage, outreach performances, Community Connections and board members for many non-profits in the area. Kris completed three leadership programs including Baton Rouge Area Chamber, John Barton, and BR business report.
Kris received her BFA in Dance and Choreography at Louisiana State University and performed with the modern and ballet company under director Terry Worthy.

1801 Pass rd, Gulfport. Register online or in person. Your first class is free and we have childcare covered if you need it! For the month of June, we are doing $15 drop in rate for 45 min-1 hour adult classes and $25 for 2 hour adult classes!
