Brian’s gravel bike has opened up alllll kinds of new adventures.
Not that it makes riding together any more compatible!.
When our ( his 105)route math didn’t math I opted for an alternative ( 87) gaining a lunch break in Lake City.
Real lunch stops may just be my new jam.
I was set for the next 40 miles and I really enjoyed that!

When Courtney Scheffler called me this winter it was because she found me through an Ai search ( wildly amusing - as not a usual path - for me at least)
Yet, Ai must be doing a thing or 2 well as what a neat woman she is and a total treat to coach with.
Hard working, driven, dialed, smart her Aug 9-14, 2026 prep was so good.
Not easy ( as a mother of a toddler with a full time career).
Yet she handled her with grace and grit.
Massive congratulations. Breck Epic is in the books with a podium overall as well! 🥈🙌

I clicked the 🔗 and committed.

I qualified by winning XTERRA North American championships.
Where I was reminded that triathlons are hard 💚

And a privledge.

So here we go. I'll Represent 🇳🇿 New Zealand in my age group 50-54.

Lesley and I started working together early in the year with a goal of the USA Cycling road nationals.
We’d planned for an even earlier start; however, we postponed a training plan as she continued to address a foot injury that had kept her off the bike in 2025.
When she said she was good to go, she was true to her body.
What has ensued is one of the most enjoyable coaching experiences.
She knows herself; she's gritty; she works hard and smart, and she challenges me.
On paper, the 2026 USA Cycling.lnc Tour of America's Dairyland Masters road nationals held some challenges. Relatively flat for Leslie's climbing prowess, we knew she'd likely have to sprint.
So she's sprinted and sprinted, added refamiliarization on her TT bike, and trained/raced at high intensity.

Today's group sprint for the 3rd podium spot in the road race was a huge success.
Made better by succeeding at race tactics, she leaned into 🙌

Further to that, what else can you say about a 2nd, Criterion, 3rd TT, and 3rd in the big race: Road race.

The Rat Trails in Ridgeway have an annual race when Kristi wanted to do it, it prompted me too.
Soren said he was keen on single speed and the Fields said it’s close by - be a great opportunity for the girls to race.
It was so fun to show up with an crew, see all the Western slope and Durango teams and join in.
I’m super grateful for the opportunity to coach our local contingent- seriously- thanks for much for the trust Will/Adam and families.
We love what we are all doing! With collaboration, coaching and building local racing too.
We have 9 local MTB and STXC races this summer.
As for 🐀: you can only say how fun those trails were to race! And hot, dusty, fast!

Me 1 Open Women - I moved into 2nd at end of lap 1 and thought - phew, maybe settle, wrong 🤣Durango Devo 2nd pushed me at 10-40 seconds for another 90 minutes. That was a super fun full gas race 🙏
Big props to Jade for getting up at 3.30 to travel down there, today you can sleep 😴 in.

North American Champs + World cup series Short track racing.
They invited top women to join the Elite STXC race.
Well, that was a fun intro into remembering how to race a triathlon- 16th out of the swim, 10th off the bike, finish on the lap w/ the leaders to 11th on the run.
What a neat format, what a treat to not be last in the swim. I could have held my own better, been a few places up even in the swim, and then I remember - let's just be grateful that I get to do this 💚
Main event on Sunday, where I hope to qualify for World Champs in my age group 💃
