Stockings for Veterans drive-Oklahoma

I wasn’t going to deliver stockings this year after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, however, it gives me a lot of happiness to see the Veterans happy. I’m delivering, but not near as many and unfortunately, due to my immune system will not be able to hand deliver to the Veterans in their rooms. The volunteer service will hand out. Thank you to SFC Julie Hamilton for providing the candy and all the stockings this year.

I would like to thank those who have supported this project in the past. I have been able, with the support of many people in in public, to deliver smiles and stockings filled with goodies to the OKC BA Hospital and OKC VA Homeless

In March of this year I was diagnosed with a rare terminal bone marrow cancer. I am going into the hospital on October 2nd and will not be able to come home until around Thanksgiving. For this reason I will be unable to fulfill and deliver the stockings.

I would like to thank everyone for their support. I will return stronger in 2021! Our veterans thank everyone for your support!!!

I would like to thank Melanie Williams, local Guthrie resident, for the generous donation she has made for the Stockings for Veterans for December 2020 ( this is part of the donation). Guthrie Gives Back One Stocking At A Time On Dec. 13, a little over 100 stockings were delivered to the Oklahoma City VA, through the locally funded program Stockings for Veterans OKC.

Local Guthrie resident, Codi Canning, donated her time and 100 Christmas cards for the veterans. Thank you very much for making Christmas merrier for our Veterans.

Perkins Casino has once again donated a few cases of cards for the veterans stockings and to leave as donations at the hospital. Thank you for your generosity.

Rick Hamilton of AAA Newcastle Insurance Company donated ink pens, dental floss and note pads again this year. Thank you for your repeated generosity.

Guthrie resident, Patsy Crick, donated several Christmas cards for the veterans at Christmas. During the fall, she hosted a make and take and we created some crafts that I delivered to the VA Hospital. Thank you very much for your time and assistance in helping cheer the veterans.

We received a donation of ten baseball caps. I apologise, I have already put them in the Veterans stockings and forgot to take a photo first. They were very nice camo caps donated by Jan Inda- Bayless from Guthrie, OK. Thank you for your generosity.

Candace and Jason Johnson of Guthrie, OK donated stockings for the veterans. They also donated toiletries, not shown, they are already in some of the stockings ready to give away.
