For those who have started following us since our camp in July, welcome! We are so glad you are here!
A little bit about us:
The Neuromuscular Adult camp was first started by the Griffin family in 2009. John (also known as Happy) and his wife Jamie, saw a need for a camp where adults with the neuromuscular disorder called Muscular Dystrophy could enjoy a week with others with the same disorder. In partnership with Twin Cedars Camp, the No Limits Neuromuscular Camp was created.
Muscular Dystrophy is a muscle wasting disease, which causes weakness of the muscles and many times limits people from doing every day things on their own. There are many forms of the neurological disease and many different variants of it, as some are affected more than others.
Volunteer camp counselors are assigned to each camper, and assist them for the entire week with any needs they may have and provide support during activities such as swimming, paddle boating, fishing, paint balling, horseback riding, zip lining, power soccer, and more!
While we work in collaboration with Camp Twin Cedars, our week of neuromuscular camp is separately funded and supported by volunteers. We are able to operate through volunteers and donors who support our week of life without limits.
