⚾ THE JOB BEHIND THE POSITION: CENTER FIELD

The center fielder isn’t just standing in the deepest part of the field.

He’s reading the ball off the bat.
Covering both gaps.
Backing up throws.
Directing the other outfielders.
And knowing when to take charge and call everyone off.

He has the most ground to cover, and often the clearest view of the entire play.

Speed gets him there.
Communication avoids collisions.
Confidence finishes the play.

**That’s the job behind the position.**

“¡Tranquilo!”
Pronounced: trahn-KEE-loh

Literal translation: Calm or peaceful.

What it really means:
Relax. Settle down. Take a breath. You’re okay.

On the baseball field, you might hear *¡Tranquilo!* when a pitcher is rushing, a player is frustrated or the moment is starting to feel too big.

It may sound serious, but coach isn’t angry - he’s reminding the player to slow down, reset and trust himself. 🇵🇷⚾

What an incredible honor it was to watch our , Kevin, make the life-changing decision to be baptized last weekend. ✝️🙌🏼

A few of his Crashouts brothers and coaches were able to be there to stand beside him and celebrate this special moment. This is what brotherhood is all about—showing up for one another through the big moments, on and off the field.

💗💙⚾️ THIS is what community supporting community looks like!

A HUGE thank you to Bloom Nutrition of Springfield for hosting our Crashouts Benefit Day and pouring into our players! 🥤🫶 We had so much fun, our families showed up, and we’re so thankful for a local business willing to give back to our kids.

And to our Crashouts families & supporters — y’all SHOWED UP & SHOWED OUT! 👏💗💙 That’s the Crashout Way.

We also want to encourage other local teams, schools, nonprofits & organizations to reach out to Bloom about hosting a Benefit Day of their own! It’s an easy way to raise money while supporting a local business at the same time.

And local businesses… take note. 👀 Partner with the Crashouts and we’re going to do our best to SHOW UP for you, too. We love building partnerships that go both ways and supporting the businesses that support our kids.

⚾️ WHY WE USE PICKUP PLAYERS ⚾️

Pickup baseball sometimes gets misunderstood, but when it’s done for the right reasons, it can be a great opportunity for both the player and the team.

For players, picking up means extra game repetitions, learning from different coaches, meeting new teammates and experiencing baseball outside their usual environment. It challenges them to communicate, adjust and prove they can contribute wherever they’re needed.

For teams, pickup players help fill genuine roster needs when regular players are unavailable, injured or when a certain position needs additional depth. They aren’t there to replace the kids who have been putting in the work—they’re there to help the team compete safely and successfully.

And when a player puts on a Crashouts uniform, we expect him to be treated like part of the team—not an outsider filling a space.

We coach him.
We encourage him.
We celebrate his success.
And we expect him to show up for the team just like everyone else.

Different name on the roster. Same uniform. Same dugout. Same team. 💙💗

🩷🩵 Want to help with the Coastal Crashouts Yard Sale? There are plenty of ways—even if you can’t make it Saturday!

📦 Donate gently used items
🎟️ Donate raffle prizes—gift cards, sports tickets, gift baskets from local businesses and more!
🍪 Bake goodies or donate snacks and drinks for us to sell
🙌 Volunteer a little time with setup, the sale or cleanup
🚚 Connect us with a food truck owner who might want to set up
🤝 Help arrange pickup of unsold items by a church or organization

Donations can be dropped off at either practice this week or at our Coastal Contracting office in Rincon, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. Message us for the office address or to arrange larger items going directly to the yard sale location!

We’re talking old-school ’90s yard sale prices, $5 fill-a-bag clothing, raffles, snacks and a little baseball fun while you shop! ⚾️🛍️

All proceeds from our yard sale and fundraising activities support the Coastal Crashouts Athletic Club.

Today, we’re sending a huge thank-you to Vic’s on the River Restaurant for supporting the Coastal Crashouts and investing in our players!

Their generosity helps us provide training, tournament opportunities and meaningful baseball experiences without charging our families club fees. Support like this gives our athletes more chances to develop their skills, build confidence and make memories together—both on and off the field.

When a business chooses to support youth sports, it’s doing so much more than sponsoring a team. It’s showing young athletes that their community believes in them and wants to see them succeed.

🌧️ Apparently the only thing stopping the Crashouts today was Mother Nature. 😂⚾️

Game 1: TIE. 🤝
Game 2: TIED when the rain shut us down. 🌧️

And we were playing some GOOD baseball today. 🔥 The boys were hitting, competing, bringing the energy and having fun doing it.

Would’ve loved to see how the rest of this one played out… but Mother Nature said everybody go home. 😂

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed and the first responders and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

May we never forget the courage, sacrifice and unity shown that day—and may we continue teaching the next generation what it means to serve, stand together and care for one another.

“¡Vamos!”
Pronounced: VAH-mohs

Literal translation: Let’s go.

What it really means:
Come on. Get moving. We’ve got this. Keep pushing.

You might hear *¡Vamos!* after a big hit, before an important pitch, or when the team needs a little extra energy.

It may sound intense, but it’s usually excitement, encouragement and passion - all packed into one word. 😂🇵🇷
