Saint Bede Academy student Lily Bosnich pulled off quite the unconventional double on her senior night.

Bosnich started her day on the softball field, going 1-for-3, hitting a home run, driving in two runs, scoring three times, and stealing three bases in Saint Bede’s 10-0 win over Marquette. Then, she headed over to the track, where she won the 300-meter hurdles in 46.98 seconds—while still wearing her softball uniform.

*4A North Regional Place earners*
Congratulations to many other South Hagerstown Rebels Track athletes for finishing in top 8 spots at our regional meet. Kareem Walton, Mckinzie Walker, Ben Orndorff, Clinton Otinkorang, the girls 4x100m relay of Chloe Gietka, Wynter Cephus, Ajayah Alexnder & Trinity Savage. Once all 4A division results merge, we may have more state qualifiers. Way to go!

*State Meet Advancement*
The boys 4x200m relay of Myles Clottey, Clinton Otinkorang, Jameir Simms, and Torin Sitter has secured their spot at the state meet by winning the 4A North championship running a new South Hagerstown High School record of 1:28.99!

Clinton Otinkorang has secured his support in the 4A state meet by finishing 2nd in the 200m dash at the 4A North regional meet!

*4A North Regional Champion*
Torin Sitter has WON the 4A North boys 400m dash to advance to the state meet!

*New school record*
Chloe Gietka has broken the South Hagerstown High school girls triple jump record that she also previously held. Her jump of 37'6" WON the 4A North championship and secured her spot in the state meet!

Congratulations to the boys 4x200m relay team of Myles Clottey, Clinton Otinkorang, Jameir Simms and Torin Sitter for qualifying for the state track meet AND breaking the South High record from 2012 running a time of 1:28.99. Chloe Gietka and Trinity Savage have also secured state meet competition in the Long jump meeting the 4A qualifying standards. We will have day 2 of our regional meet tomorrow, May 14, 2026 at Urbana High school beginning at 4pm. Stay tuned for more state meet qualifying announcements at the completion of day 2!

There will be WALK IN athletic physicals taking place on May 28th from 4-6 pm AT SOUTH HIGH in the gymnasium for only $20 This is a wonderful opportunity to get your sports clearance taken care of for the upcoming school year at a very reasonable price. They will only be accepting cash or check for this event. Incoming 9th grade athletes are also eligible for this opportunity so pass this information along.
