This is good. I like his term “Emotional Professionalism”. We need more empathy for the younger generation while teaching them at the same time there is a time and place to express themselves for everything: you should not wear your issues/feelings on your sleeve in certain situations, what to wear and when and where. I call it dressing for success or the the right occasion - expressing your political views is not appropriate in all settings, and being able to just make a doctor’s appointment without your mom or have a difficult conversation with a loved one. We need to help them learn to manage stress and anxiety. At the studio one way we do this is breathing exercises to calm nerves and giving them confidence to handle situation but also the safety to express themselves to their teachers more one one and recognize those frustrated feelings earlier.

Temps Lié - working on weight shifting and traveling across the floor in Petite/Junior Ballet today. (I should have said Close 5th - my mind had not shifted yet from level I to Juniors)
So proud of the progress these ladies have made in just 3 weeks of classes this fall!
