‼️Possible Indoor Sports Field at Players Park‼️

A group of investors is pursuing an enclosed turf sports field for indoor lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, flag football, ultimate frisbee, softball and baseball training on Route 146A in the Town of Clifton Park. The proposed site is located at Players Park Family Fun Plex, which is currently being used for a 9 hole foot golf course. The land is zoned for sports uses. The hope is to replace the foot golf course with an enclosed turf sports field. The enclosed field would allow for two 53 yard x 32 yard playing areas. The existing ice cream stand and mini golf course will continue operations.

We are seeking a zoning amendment to allow for the enclosed turf field so that the community can utilize the field for sports during the winter months. A public hearing is scheduled for 7:00PM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Town Hall. If you are interested in attending the hearing to support the project, you would be welcome to do so.

If you are a Town of Clifton Park resident or a business owner in the Town of Clifton Park, it is appreciated if you would complete a very brief survey. Please do so prior to Wednesday, February 9, 2022 to allow time to compile the data prior to the public hearing. 💥See Link in Comments💥

The Sportsplex business will be ceasing operations on February 15, 2021. The past year has been a very tumultuous time for the Sportsplex business. There was hope that the business could continue operations, but when we could not work out a way to make that happen, the existing landlord sold the building to a manufacturing company. Once the sale occurred, we had hoped to figure out a way to get more time from the new landlord, but understandably, they need access. They have kindly given us until the February break.

We do need to state that the old landlord and the new landlord have both been great to work with. The reality is that it became impossible for the Sportsplex to continue operations.

We, obviously, sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this is causing the Sportsplex community. It has been a privilege for our staff to develop so many wonderful relationships and friendships with everyone who has been a patron of the Sportsplex over the past 16 years.

There is hope that a new fabric structure indoor sports facility can be brought to the local community in the near future.

Hello Sportsplex Community,

We hope all are healthy and well. Due to the safety and health of our community, the Sportsplex is currently not accepting new bookings. We will continue to follow CDC and Federal and State rules and recommendations.

Following the lead of so many organizations across the country, we are not comfortable offering competitive league play right now. This has been a very difficult business decision, but we feel it is in the best interest of our community.

We hope to begin Kicks for Kids classes, birthday parties and adult and youth league play after Labor Day.
