Congratulations to LHP Jackson Duncan (Shenendehowa ’27) on his commitment to continue his education and baseball career at Division II Saint Michaels College in Colchester, Vermont. Jackson has been one of the top pitchers in our Barnstormers program since he joined us at age 13. Playing up on our 17u team this last summer, Jackson led the team with 36 innings pitched, a 4-0 record, and a 1.36 ERA. Jackson allowed only 14 hits all summer and opponents batted .116 against him. He also led the team with 61 strikeouts with only 17 walks and a WHIP of .861.

Hayner Brothers Baseball and Softball Academy would like to welcome two new instructors to our staff:

Will Vazquez was drafted in the 30th round of the 2007 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox and reached the AA level of the minor leagues. Will was primarily a catcher but played 7 out of the 9 positions during his minor league career. Will specializes in hitting, catching, fielding and pitching.

Alex Chandler was a four year starter as an infielder for the College of St. Rose and team captain his junior and senior years. Alex was a three sport athlete at Saratoga HS and was selected All-State his senior year. Alex is currently the JV Baseball Coach at Mechanicville where he is employed as an elementary school teacher.

Both instructors are available immediately for private lessons.

Ages 12/13/14 - “Transition and Thrive on the Big Field”
Ages 10/11/12 - “Transition and Thrive on the 50/70 Field”

The focus will be on throwing mechanics and accuracy to improve “pop times” to second base. Also blocking and other aspects of catching as needed plus introduction to throwing arm/shoulder care and arm strength development.

Dates: August 17 and 19, 2026

Times: 1:30 - 3:00 PM for upcoming 13u, 14u and 15u players.
3:00-4:30 PM for upcoming 11u players and second year 12u

Place: Halfmoon Town Park Fields 1&2
