I’ve had lots of War Knot Wool students reach out asking to participate in a WKW pad drop & it’s been a while since our last one!

Here’s how it works: a select number of War Knot Wool students are chosen to build saddle pads - all wool, canvas and payment is delivered to their doorstep and they recieve free rein to choose the design. Their work is shown to all of our lovely followers, their business information is proudly displayed on our website and a date/time is chosen where all saddle pads go live on the website for our customers to purchase!

Our goal at War Knot wool has always been the same - to make horses comfortable and make these saddle pads more accessible through our educational platform. Today we took another big step towards this goal, adding Corriedale Pulled Wool Saddle Pad Starter Kits to our lineup of products and being able to permanently reduce the price of our merino starter kits. These kits allow horseman to begin their journey of building saddle pads and have lead to dozens of small businesses forming💕

Keep in mind, micron count does vary depending on where you are sourcing your wool from! War Knot Wool offers 23 micron merino, 25-30 micron corriedale and 40 micron herdwick!

You asked, we listened! 49 colors of Corriedale wool are now available through War Knot Wool🐑

Corriedale wool offers a slightly coarser alternative to merino for pulled wool saddle pads and comes with a lower price tag. At approximately 25–30 microns, Corriedale has a bit more body and structure than our 23-micron Merino, while still remaining a versatile wool. Corriedale is known for its bulk, defined crimp, and durability.
