Final High Peaks Trip of 2026!

Another beautiful weekend in the Adirondacks. We lucked out again with clear skies and sunshine to take in the Fall colors.

Our first hike ranks up there as one of my favorites. We hiked the New Russia Traverse from 73 to New Russia. After being socked in on my previous two attempts, this one felt very special with sunshine and reds and golds in the valleys. The summits were amazing with zero wind, we did not want to leave.

Our second day of hiking was to tackle Esther & Whiteface. After the stiff climb up Marble Mountain, we enjoyed a DRY trail to Esther. The final climb up Whiteface is always special, made more epic with some moderate wind.

We are planning 2027 now, what mountains to you want to climb next year?

What a beautiful evening yesterday to welcome the first day of Fall! 🍁 Outsiders conquered the stairs at both Devil’s Hole and Whirlpool and were rewarded with a beautiful sunset! ☀️🍂

High Falls Loop = Success

Another great trip with a great crew of Outsiders. The weather was incredible for our 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip on the High Falls Loop in the Five Ponds Wilderness.

This trip had everything from river views at High Rock, multiple beaver dam crossings, ponds, a waterfall at High Falls, a mountain called Cat, and a “lake” view at Dead Creek Flow.

The hike had its challenges, but we were rewarded with swimming holes, great food, and great company. Great job team!
