Well, I guess Mother Nature won Thursday night’s race by raining us out.

Only one of the boats poised to race got caught in the shower. At least it was a warm afternoon.

Hopefully this coming Thursday will be better.

Should be a good day for raising money on the lake for a good cause.

Weather forecast for Saturday the 6th looks FANTASTIC for the traditional 1st event of the Lake season! Register your boat and crew to participate on the 1st Saturday in June and mark your calendars every year to help support a local non-profit!

Memorial Day at the club featured shared food, swimming, horseshoes and several boats sailing … including two caught in an afternoon thunderstorm storm.

The smart sailor and guests sailed before lunch and stayed dry!

It did raise the question: What does a 3-year-old know about steering?

Member Wendy Ray is a first-timer at the Thursday Night sailing and brought her son. Hopefully, they will become regulars.

Manageable wind and peaceful conditions made for a nice evening sail.

I’m sure Columbus natives know the city claims to have originated Memorial Day, but it may strike others as a surprise.
