Gracie United is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu-focused martial arts training facility serving the Hammond / Ponchatoula area. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, most notably by applying joint-locks and chokes to defeat the opponent. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the most effective self-defense martial art in the world and is great for kids, teens, and women. Though our main focus on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we also offer classes in mixed martial arts with instruction from UFC, Strikeforce, and Bellator veterans.
