Students team up with Home Depot volunteers to build benches for Hammond parks High school students from the Area Career Center joined Home Depot staff and volunteers Thursday to build benches for parks throughout the city, putting their trade skills to the test.

This morning, volunteers from Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, teamed up with Area Career Center (Hammond) construction students to build park benches for the City of Hammond at the Hammond Home Depot store.
The project will help make Hammond’s parks more accessible and welcoming for older adults, parents with young children, individuals with disabilities and other community members who rely on benches as necessary rest stops.
Many thanks to the ACC kids and The Home Depot for this amazing gift to Hammond's parks!
