2026 is underway, and I’m seeing our guys show me every day that it’s so much bigger than the game. It’s about the kid waiting by the rail, the fan who just needs a moment, and the impact you can make with something as simple as a “hey man,” a fist bump, or a signed ball, jersey, hat or whatever it may be. You have no idea how much you’ve positively impacted them.

I will never take these moments for granted. You never know what it means to someone on the other side. Always for the Love of the Game!

🧵
2023 Draft #11 pick made his way up to the big leagues this year with the Angels. Let’s Dive in!

At we have our “Big 3” when it comes to breaking down hitting: it is Bat Speed, Bat-to-Ball (Smash Factor), Approach (Swing Decisions).

Based on our DL model, has the following 20-80 grades on our “Big 3”: Bat Speed Grade (29), Smash Factor (69), Swing Decisions (57). Obviously indicating his elite ability to barrel the ⚾️up, while making above avg swing decisions. The outlier being his bat speed.

SD/B2B Metrics: (⚾️=League Avg)
Chase: 21.1% vs ⚾️ 28.3%
IZ Whiff: 9.3% vs ⚾️17.3%
Miss%: 14.4% vs ⚾️25.1%
K%: 17.0% vs ⚾️ 22.2%
Con%: 85.6% vs ⚾️74.9%
BB%: 11.2% vs ⚾️8.2%
Sweet Spot%: 38% vs ⚾️35%

B2B Metrics⚾️=League Avg
Avg EV: 85.4 vs ⚾️ 88.3 mph
EV100+LA(Avg LA on 100+ EV) : 17.6° vs⚾️11.9°
Pull Air% (Pull Batted Balls 10-40°): 39.6% vs⚾️35.1%
Flight Window (Batted Balls 10-38°): 43% vs⚾️38%
When he hits the ball hard it is in the air 👍🚀

How can he be more productive?

By Adding Bat Speed!
Bat Speed Metrics: (⚾️=League Avg)

Bat Speed: 65.1 mph vs⚾️71.5 mph
EV 90th: 97.3 mph vs⚾️ 104.5 mph
Max EV: 105.9 mph vs⚾️ 108.5 mph

1 mph of bat speed = 1.2 mph of exit velocity = 7 ft+ of distance 🚀

+1 mph of bat speed = +1.2 mph of exit velocity
+2 mph bat speed = +2.4 mph of exit velocity
+3 mph bat speed = +3.6 mph exit velocity

If adds some legitimate bat speed this off-season and merges it together with his pretty elite Bat-to-Ball skills, and Above Average Swing Decisions.. Production levels will drastically change for him!

+1 mph of bat speed = $6 mill on the Free Agent market

1 mph of bat speed = 0.0123 points of wOBA = ~0.10 runs per PA *600 Pas = ~6 runs per year or .6 WAR or $ 6 million in the free agent market

+1 mph of bat speed = 1.2 mph of exit velocity = 7 ft+ of distance

Cool visual here of arm angles no doubt.. but also on the flip side of things..hitting is hard.. train in environments replicating the in game challenge itself

You can literally not give a sign, tell your hitter exactly where to bunt the ball to. With the defense completely aware that he is bunting… and as long as the hitter executes it… signs are irrelevant. Ex*****on is all that matters!

Runners on 1st & 2nd with Nobody Out. “Showcase Game” or not, we WILL bunt the baseball. It’s part of the game.

Guys need to PLAY THE GAME more. You learn a lot more that way than seeing it as 3-4 at bats and maybe a couple defensive plays…..

It’s about learning how to be apart of something bigger than yourself. How to overcome adversity at any capacity as a cog in a team unit.

Everyone encourages “showcasing” that’s great 👍🏽 But do they know how to PLAY BASEBALL. Not how fast they can run 60 yards in a straight line… not how many BP fastballs out of 2 rounds that can get out front and pull homers on…. It’s not about how much you can light up a radar gun by spiking a heater in the dirt, or throwing heaters to the backstop at the expense of 90’ to your team…

At the “High School Showcase/Travel Circuit” Level Players and their Families should be more focused on preparing yourself/your son to the best of your ability… For when he steps foot on campus your/his freshman fall for that TEAM he’s now on. Their Goal is to Win Championships!……
Once again…

“TEAM” vs. Group of Individuals

breaking the Single-Season American League Homerun Record here with #62 ! Aside from it being an AMAZING accomplishment… NOTICE… after he hits it…

• No Excessive celebration of any kind 🤔

AND

• No Bat Flip? 🤔

He takes a quick peek at it… puts the bat down, and his head down and proceeds to take his trot around the bases. Then following it, the way the away crowd embraced him, as well as his teammates 🔥🙌🏽 !
