...High School Racing has entered the chat. ⛵️

A fun little throwback to the season’s first high school regatta at Christchurch School School on September 3!

The sailors had a great time on the water before the storms rolled in. From sailing side by side to helping each other through boat rotations, Chase and Reagan showed us what teamwork is all about. 💙

Here's to a great rest of the season ahead! 🌊

⛵️ LET THE RACING BEGIN. ⛵️

➡️ Tomorrow, YSV hosts the HCS Team Regatta, where varsity teams will take the water for some fast-paced FJ racing. Bring the family and your chairs out to Fort Monroe to watch the races if you want — it's a great time!

✌️ Best of luck, teams. See you on the water!

On this 🌊 , we’re celebrating the selfless individuals and innovative industries that keep our community moving forward — allowing us the opportunity to introduce our youth to the water.

The connections we have developed within the maritime community have unlocked doors we never thought we would walk through, and we are forever grateful for the partnerships and friendships we've cultivated along the way.

For our young sailors, the first time on the water can begin a lifelong connection to the maritime world, and we're honored to be that stepping stone. ⚓🌊⛵️

Happy World Maritime Day. This year's theme, "Powering Maritime Excellence," is one Portsmouth lives out every day.

Portsmouth's maritime industry is one of the main pillars of our local economy. Home to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and a growing network of marine technology, defense, and logistics businesses, our city continues to be a leader in maritime innovation and workforce development.

🍂 The weather is changing, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒏'𝒕. 🍂

⛵️ Fall Sea Squirts has officially set sail—but don't worry, there's still room aboard the boats for your sailor.

➡️ Both Saturday & Sunday classes are available to fit your schedule. And the best part? No experience is needed if your child has never sailed before.

⭐️ Bonus ➡ fun, friendship, and lifelong learning are also included. 😉

A huge thank you to the The Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk for bringing together so many people who make our waterfront work and The Mariners' Museum and Park was the perfect place to do it.

Our knot tying station was a hit, with kids and grown-ups alike mastering bowlines and square knots. We even held a few knot tying races, and the competitive spirit was strong!

Most of all, we loved meeting new friends and sharing what sailing is really about: confidence, teamwork, problem solving, and life skills that stay with you long after you leave the dock.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. We hope to see you on the water soon!

Come out and see us! We’re set up and ready to share YSV with everyone at the Maritime Career Festival at The Mariners' Museum and Park.
