Tomorrow is looking like a really good day for private eFoil lessons.

As the water temperature continues to drop and we settle into fall, these windows of opportunity are getting fewer and farther between. Tuesday is shaping up to be one of those days with temperatures in the high 70s, very light winds, and some really nice water conditions.

The water temperature is still sitting at 71.4 degrees, so it is definitely still comfortable enough to get out there.

If you’ve been wanting to try something adventurous and get on the water before the season winds down, Tuesday could be a perfect day to do it.

We have an opening today for our 4:00 p.m. private eFoil session at Mill Creek after a reschedule.

Conditions are looking near perfect, and the chances of rain have dropped dramatically. If you’ve been wanting to learn, today could give us some of the best water conditions you could ask for.

Good morning Hampton!

It is Sunday, September 27, 2026, and this is our final Good Morning Hampton weather report for this season. Unfortunately, this weekend just never came together for us, and our operation at Buckroe Beach is officially closed for the year.

It will still be a beautiful day in its own way, but it is definitely not much of a beach day for us. Expect cloudy skies throughout the day, temperatures topping out around 70°, and a steady west to northwest wind. It is the kind of day where you can enjoy a walk along the beach in a sweatshirt, but for us, that is usually a pretty good sign that the season has run its course.

The west wind should keep the water close to shore relatively flat and calm today. Once you get farther offshore, though, the wind will be much more noticeable, with some significant gusts still around throughout the day.

And with that, our third season at Buckroe Beach comes to a close. It has been a phenomenal year, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, rented equipment, grabbed something from the shop, stopped by to say hello, or supported us throughout the season.

While our Buckroe Beach operation is finished for the year, Green Wave Watersports is not done. Private eFoil lessons are still available by reservation, and stay tuned because we are also working on some potential destination kayaking opportunities around the area.

We are excited to keep building, keep growing, and see what 2027 has in store. We have some things in the works, and we are looking forward to sharing more when the time comes.

Pretty cool piece of Hampton history from the Hampton History Museum.

A lot of the photos I share for our Good Morning Hampton posts are taken from around this exact spot at Grandview, so I always enjoy learning more about the history of this stretch of shoreline.

What makes this post especially interesting right now is that Grandview has seen some significant flooding over the last couple of days during this nor’easter. The storm featured in this post happened in 1956, exactly 70 years ago, and had such a major impact on the landscape of Grandview.

Seeing old photos while watching another storm reshape the shoreline in real time really puts into perspective just how much this area has changed over the years, and how much stays the same.

Today in Hampton History
1956 - The remnants of Hurricane Flossy severely damage Hampton’s shoreline. The storm, with building high tides over several days, flooded roads and low-lying areas.

The heaviest damage was at Grandview, where the remnants of the Back River Lighthouse collapsed, and part of the shoreline that included the Grandview Dance Pavilion and a new bulkhead was washed into the Chesapeake Bay. The pavilion’s owner, Raymond Hunt, decided not to rebuild, saying “I’m not going to fight the sea anymore.”

The storm also heavily damaged Fort Monroe’s main wharf, temporarily stopping steamboat traffic and contributing to the demise of steamboat travel from Old Point Comfort.

It is Saturday, September 26, 2026, and Green Wave Watersports will be closed today.

We have already been dealing with flooding from this nor’easter since Wednesday, and today looks like the day the heaviest winds really settle in. Expect cloudy skies, temperatures stuck in the 60s, and strong northwest winds throughout the day. Sustained winds will be well into the 20s at times, with gusts reaching around 36 mph and the potential for some stronger bursts. It is going to be a rough, windy day along the Chesapeake Bay.

The water is going to be the main attraction today. Those strong northwest winds are going to have the Bay moving, with rough water, whitecaps, and plenty of waves to watch. For the surfers out there, this is the kind of day you have been waiting for. Conditions are powerful, though, so know your limits and use some common sense.

The UV Index peaks at 3 around noon, which is considered moderate on the UV scale. Air quality should remain good throughout the day.

Unfortunately, this may be Mother Nature making the call on the end of our season. We are not officially calling it just yet. We will take another look at Sunday’s weather tomorrow and see if we can squeeze out one more day at Buckroe Beach.

It is Sunday, September 20, 2026, and Green Wave Watersports opens at 11 AM today. We are starting off with some clouds this morning, but the sky should gradually open up as we move through the afternoon. Winds will be lighter than yesterday, temperatures will be warm, and rain chances stay very low. Overall, it looks like a pretty nice Sunday to relax at Buckroe Beach.

The water temperature remains at 79.7°F. Winds will generally come from the southeast and stay lighter than what we had yesterday. The water should still have a little texture to it, but overall conditions along the beach should feel much more comfortable.

Low tide is at 10:45 AM, right around setup time for a lot of people heading to the beach. Keep that in mind when choosing your spot. If you are setting up around 11 AM or later, the tide will be coming back in, so give yourself plenty of room between your setup and the water.

Expect plenty of sunshine, very little chance of rain, and comfortable late summer temperatures. It will feel a little windy along the beach, but it should not be overwhelmingly hot. The warmest it is expected to feel today is around 84°.
