This baby girl has made my world a little brighter. She’s been my sunshine lately, giving me baby 🍼 👶 fever (But that’s a story for another). Anyways yesterday she decided she has to absolutely workout with her Aunty Silo. She didn’t see that flip coming (She’s ok, not hurt). We had so much fun together. Training them young.
And ohh she eats everything that I eat, therefore she eats super healthy except for the occasional ice cream and frozen yogurt .

At the beginning of the year, I was excited for all the things I had planned out for 2018. However within the first few weeks of January I got really sick 😷. Sick for 10 Days (5 between Urgent Care and 5 admitted). Those 10 Days felt like forever and I barely had any strength to get out of bed or even talk.
While in the hospital there were few things I thought of constantly and one of them was my already scheduled Half marathon for February 18th. I knew within me I really wanted to do the marathon, but with sickness and the state of my health, I almost gave up on it; reason being that I knew I will have the entire month of January to train since I had taken a break for the month of December.
After I left the hospital though I was eager to go right back to working out, I took about a week or two to rest and while my team mates were training I was eating frozen yogurt and resting on the couch.
The Friday of my rest week, something hit me and I realized that I could just try instead of totally giving up. Maybe try waking up a little earlier for the next three weeks, maybe try running only a mile a day for the next three weeks, maybe try training a little everyday for the next three weeks, maybe try going to bed early for the next three weeks. Maybe all I had to do was try!!!!
So Sunday came around and I was in bed by 10pm, woke up Monday at 5am and knocked out the first three miles of the year. It was a pain. I remember struggling to make it to the one mile mark, then to the three mile mark. I also remember the feeling of accomplishment that I felt that day. It was priceless and indescribably joyous.
Then I continued the routine for the next three weeks, skipping somedays of course 😊because I also needed to sleep in and get some rest.
Two weeks into the race, I could only run 2 miles a day, because I had come to the conclusion that it was hard and I didn’t want to do this anymore. What kept me going however was the motivation from my amazing team. Everyone sharing their struggles, laughing over it, pushing each other and praying for each other. I mean! What more could I ask for. The encouragement gave me the momentum to keep going.
Finally race day

The real battle is not with your surroundings, it’s with you. Your mind and your heart. When you can overcome your own obstacles, your inner battles and remind yourself of the bigger picture and purpose, at that very moment you become unstoppable

Don’t get stuck on what was or what could have been. Don’t dwell on the things didn’t quite go right. It might have been what you’ve been used to but you don’t have to stay there. There’s better ahead, there’s more of you just let go and focus on what’s ahead while enjoying the present. The price you have to pay for the future is the past, therefore growth will happen when you realize that your past has no place in your life other than the lessons you got out of it; but the future is filled with so much potential and you have to open yours of up to the endless opportunities ahead.
