We are very grateful to share that Namolokama OʻHanalei Canoe Club largely survived Hurricane Lowell’s powerful winds, and most importantly, our canoes came through the storm safely.
Unfortunately, we did lose the large tent structure that has served as our clubhouse and provides essential protection and storage for our canoes and equipment.
We know there are many urgent needs throughout Kauaʻi right now, and we are very mindful of that. At this point, we are simply reaching out to our extended community in hopes of finding someone with experience or connections in the tent or event industry who might be willing to help us identify the type of structure we had and determine what would be needed to replace the hardware and cover.
If you know a local tent or event company, supplier, contractor, or simply someone knowledgeable about these types of structures who might be willing to offer some guidance, we would be very grateful for an introduction or contact information.
Namolokama has been part of the Hanalei community for many years, and we feel incredibly fortunate that our paddlers, canoes, and club came through such a powerful storm as well as they did.
Mahalo for thinking of us — and especially for thinking of everyone throughout Kauaʻi who is working to recover from Lowell.
