Its been awhile since posting on Facebook but we have been busy. Nothing other than good old fashioned word of mouth from the hunting community in the copper country has kept calls rolling in through bear season and now into deer season. Thanks to all of you Copper Country Sportsmen for spreading the good word about Jibbers. She appreciates all of the work!
Today was a good one. Clark Kangas shot this buck last night and knew instantly that the shot was back. He did everything right. He backed out and left the deer overnight and reached out this morning without pushing too much. We took up the track 17 hours in with last blood around 50-75 yards from the shot. Conditions weren't great with variable and gusting winds but Jibs locked in pretty quickly. Arrow was covered in stomach matter and bile with very little visible sign so we just had to trust her. 300 yards in she stopped working the ground and started working the wind. I knew we were probably close but stayed cautious. 87 yards later we found Clark's buck. Alive but in no condition to run Clark was able to seal the deal. Its nice when the hunter makes good decisions at every turn even though the shot wasn't ideal. Great job Clark!
